  1. OK, I'll do it.

The X-Men "dark future" story line (issues 141 and 142) were quite Cyberpunk, with even the whole group getting wasted in the end. But then in 1992 or so they fired Chris Claremont and came up with so many alternate futures the they no longer appeared to be hurtling inevitably toworst the aforementioned dark future.

That was about when I quit reading comics.

Also that is when our store owner went insane.

That may have had some influence...

Man, those are my best rounds...

Which "snippy " post was edited ?

Not that i would think of you being able to be so bad and say anything snippy !

PS: Though i´m a big fan of the drow series by salvatore (at least the first three ,the rest was only ok ,then luke-warm ,then totally cack ) i´m with you: "good " drows are for people that want the "cool" abilities and don´t have the guts to play an ###hole.

Oh, I referred to someone as "genius" for abviously not reading my posts before he replied. Of course the guy who told me to "step off" or the one that said my argument was "crap" did not get edited.

Oh well. I take it as a compliment.

I have now determined to work good and evil Drow into evry post I respons to, just to see if I can get the boot for being "annoying".  :D

  3. OK, none of you are gonna believe this story... ;)

I started an intense discussion on EN World ( a D20 site which is NOT the point of this post for all you D20 h8rs  :D ) on whther or not here should be any "good Drow".

Holy crap what a bunch of thin skinned wusses! I got one post edited by a moderator for being snippy, and everyone kept taking some very generic statements about the intent of Drow as personal assaults on their world / character.

I don't even CARE if there are any good Drow or not, it was just an old argument from Back In Tha Day and I thought it would be fun.

I didn't even use Bookwyrm or Malek-class ammo in my arguments. I felt like I was arguing with Barney the Dinosaur.

Man, you guys would eat them alive!

Feel free to take a look...

  4. I CANNOT believe I am actually going to explain this joke.

A sucking chest wound is a wound in which the lung is pierced and is sucking in air through the wound. (which is bad, BTW)

    A sucking head-wound is...sarchasm!

(In other words a head wound from which one does not recover).

  5. Well, I changed mine to a story that I was not actually present for, but is one of the funniest "gamer" stories i have heard. (I did know all involved).

Case1Dog was there, he can tell it if he chooses.

in the US one has to be 18 to buy a longgun and 21 to buy a pistol. then you have a background check, and to buy a pistol you have to prove that yes you can handle a pistol correctly. to conceal a pistol on your person you need a permit from the police. Markc can tell the rules for autoweapons but first you need to be very good friends with the cops, then the govenment investigates you,and finaly you pay a $200 fee along with the minimum $1,500 price of a machinegun. so there are levels of gun ownership.

Actually I believe a class 4 liscence (full-auto liscence) also requires a Federal Fireams Liscence (dealer's liscence) which will set you back $3,000 every 5 years.

    4) Am I the only person who thinks that what Arab leaders fear most of all is that a stable, pluralistic and democratic Iraq emerging from all this? As that is more of a threat to them than any bomb might be?

That is EXACTLY their concern. The Arab world (leaders) want Saddam out. They are in a pickle because of two issues...

    1) Their people (the Have-Nots) see Saddam as standing up to the west (the Haves).

    2) Wilphe's Point #4.

    Huh,

I don't like guys who posess too many guns.

    How many is too many?

And you do realize that, generally speaking, you can only fire them one at a time?

  9. Americans are VERY good at self-critisizing. You shoudl see our news media. ALl it does is talk about how bad we / our government are.

I just don't like it when Europeans from countries that are in no way in the same poistion as ours point the finger. No one looks to Finland to be the leader of the free world, so when something bad happens, no one asks, "Well, what's Finland going to do about it?". Happens to us ALL THE TIME.

I just wory when a bunch of chickenhawks (Peale, Rummy, et all) favor it, and uniformed military officers who have seen action tend not to.

It's not that they don't favor it, they just

    A) want to make sure the American people are behind it (sans Vietnam)

    B) want to make sure we have the resources to win and the will to use those resources to their fullest potential (again the Vietnam issue)

And no, we have not had a major conflict on our soil in 40 years, but

    A) that's kinda the point, we'd like to keep it that way and...

    B) Ask anyone who was in Vietnam, or knew someone who came home in a body-bag from Vietnam (or Korea, or WWII etc) if Americans have not felt the impact of war.
