speaking of interlock, have you looked at interlock unlimited recently? it's had shield rules in it for like a decade at this point

small [just arm], medium [arm+1] and large[arm+2] shields provide coverage for the arm plus more locations depending on size and how they're held.

in ballistic steel variants they have an SP of 15/20/25 and add an EV of +1/+2/+3

yeah, lore and tech wise they kinda locked themselves into sticking with the old baggage when they put 2020, red and 2077 on the same timeline, so the point of divergence stays 1990. without 2077 i'm thinking they would have gone with a fresh start product, but as long as the mechanics are sound we can always fix or ignore the fluff... same as we've been doing since 2020 hit the shelves
