    12 gague sawed off: carried when venturing into excessivly rough nehirborhoods or for quick lock picking in a small package. when not used this weapon is a drawr or the night stand.

     

    bulldog autoshotgun: the heavy stuff in his armament, used to blow doors and other obstructions quickly, also makes quick work of boosters or security troopers. when not in use this weapon sits in a hidden drawr built into the bottom of his couch, in the great room.

     

    dynatech hand tazer: this tazer has been re-worked and intigrated together with a hand launcher unit to provide a ready, less leathal deterrent to criminals. when not in use this unit gets tossed on a shelf in his closet, when the hit comes down this is tha last thing he will reach for.

    BACKGROUND:

    karl burke was born on july 18, 1999 in night city, of the free state of california. the son of a cop and a corp secratary, he grew up in the moderate zone of corp housing.  it was quickly aparent that his intelligence was above par and that he was verry technicaly adept. he was alwayse dis-assembling his toys in efforts to improve them and he was reading at a level ahead by first grade.  when he was 6 his mom divorced his dad because she got a better offer from a corp she worked with, and the stress inherant to living with a cop.  He and his dad relocated to a small apartment atached to the police department complex.  His dad tried to pass on his strong views on morals and ethics to karl, but he was not verry receptive to them.  His formative years were spent in the police compound, attending local corp sponsored schools with other members of the rapidly declining middle class, where he slacked off in his studies due to lack of stimulis.  He started hanging with a group of rebelious kids from his school, the kids of low level corps and govornment workers, that were unhappy with the whitewashed/materilistic world they were born into.  They made frequent "wildings" (to borrow the nomad term) into non corp controled areas, growing bolder with each trip and eventualy venturing into the combat zone.  On one sutch trip the group was besset upon by a youth gang of superrior numbers.  Things were about to get messy when a group of leather clad edgerunners happend by and gave the juvi gangers a proper ass whooping.  Once the fight ended the edgerunners scolded the group for venturing into the zone, then escorted them back to the moderate zone and saw them off.  Burke envied these edgerunners for what they did and more importantly what they stood for, having gotten a mini dissertation on their views on the way home.  They stood up for the week and opressed and stuck it to the corporations.  Too be true, they had alterrior motives, they had one kid (the son of a captain) promise to acquire his dads acess codes to the police network and send it to them. he saw them as goodness in a world ruled by evil, and he wanted to be like them.  Whith a perpouse now defined in his life he set about acquiring the skills needed to fufill his dream.  He enrolled in every tech related course offered at his school and started reading up on internet how to articles on circumventing security systems, picking locks and ammature demolitions.  He also took on a part time job with the police range master, policing used casings/shells, stocking ammo bins and preforming basic upkeep of issue weapons.  In exchange the rangemaster gave him lessons in using a handgun and gave him some spending money.  Emersed in his extra curricular activities burks's grade fell in fundamental classes. as school wore on he became board with the structured classes chalked full of pro-corp propoganda and historical annalagies relating back to corps.  In his junior year of highschool burke  tested out and at his fathers urging, joined the army.  Burke put his time in the military to good use, absorbing all the information the instructers threw at him.  They placed him as a breeching specilist because of his technical propensity and he was assigned to a peace keeping force in an african province.  Moast of his time was spent killing time in the barracs and lending a hand to the base armorer, but while there he did get a chance to "go to the show".  A force of rangers was undertaking the hands on raids of the operation and one of the teams breechers messed up his leg on the previous opp going down the fast rope.  Thus, burke was brought in as a second stringer replacement.  The opp went well but the extraction got scrubbed due to sam fire, so hunkered down with the other rangers for 12 houres awaiting the av's to pluck them from the third world shit hole.  He killed several militia men that night, but spent moast of his time building up perrimeter security with claymores and pdu's, as well as clearing out back rooms of the housing complex the rangers had mustered at.  Eventualy the extract came and burke got out unscathed, but changed somewhat by the experience.  Burke was short, so he was shipped back to the states for release. He hit the streets in 2019 at age 20, with the skills in his head and the desire in his heart to joine the underground edgerunner community.  His first contact in the street was a homeless soulth am vet named coffee, a man with a real feel for the street and contacts in the edgerunner community.  He taught burke survival skill of of hiding and evading persuers and also introduced him to an up and comming fixer named rat.  Rat hooked him up with with a day job with a pawn shop owner, frank gambino.  He also started using burke for operations, small at first but increasing steadily. Burke participated in rats 2021 raid to foil an un-authorized kidnapping on his turf as well as the 2022 drug deal gone bad, and countless others.  Through his steady work with rat burke has established himself as a dependably operator, offering technical solutions to problems that occure durring operations as well as passible skills in a fight.  A little over a year ago burke ran across a girl named amanda that was performing at a club he frequented.  After the performance he complimented her and her band on a great show, enquired about getting a chip of their music and inquired about possibly meeting amanda again some time.  They hit it off right away and are now quite close.  Burk soon learned  that dating amanda meant the band came with the package, not that he minded.  They played covers of old school rock songs the likes of the stones, areosmith, and AC/DC, and also injected their own verses into the established tunes.  Amanda was the heart of the band, playing the synthesizer and doing the lions share of the management work as well.  While hanging with the band burke picked up on how to play the electric gituar, and covers ocasionaly for the bands rythem gituarist who is given to abuse of alcholol and drugs.  Amanda stands 6'3, has a verry shaply body, and long brown hair.  She means the world to burke, and although they dont spend as mutch time together as they would like, with work interfearing all the time, but they make the time they have together count.  She lives across town in a silverhand studio loft, along with moast of the band.  When she has a lull in the bookings for gigs and burke isn't on a run, she shacks up with burke in his apartment above gambino's pawn shop. The apartment is reasonably well equiped, using the floor plan from chrome 1 page 81, but lacks some of the high end features listed there.  The apartment has numerous modifications performed by burke, cheif among them being the instilation of an oversized hot tub in his bathroom for relaxing after hard day. It is decorated mostly with band and movie poasters from days gone by, furniture is mostly cheep plastic/foam variety and the walls/floor use dark colors accented by irridecent collored designs.

     

    Description

    Burke is a friendly, outgoing 24 year old. standing 5'9, 200lbs with a fit figure and short blond hair.  He values honesty above all else, and his moast valued possesion is a picture of his squad from the african police action(some were lost to moarter atacks/suicide bombings). He belives everyone is a valuable individual and makes an attempt to have a professional rapore with those he works with, although his fun loving side does make an ocasional apearance.  His normal dress is a pair of cargo pants, a t-shirt with a quippy saying of some sort on it, and a lightly armored nylon jacket, topped off with knee high leather boots.

  2. thats the ticket, a faked suicide!! he doesent die in battle, so he's not a mayrter, instead he's guilty of a great sin in their religion namly suicide (i think). we can even doctor up a tape of the whole thing (ever see wag the dog?) we just have a cgi artist take out all the bullet holes, then manipulate his moulth and do a voice over saying how he denounces... whatever, the spindoctors can think of something. then have him blow off his head on tape, release the tape to the media. whala, no mayrter, no preatching from his cell, no more problem.

     

    oh, and by the way, presumed innosence is a right granted to american citizens in us courts. bin ladin is not an american, and it would not be a us court, so we can off him whenever we feel like, he has no rights except what we give him.

    assorted, mostly designer quality urban flash/business wear, with some leisuer wear and high fassion thrown in for apropriate ocasions.his usual dress is leather half boots or knee high boots, slacks, short sleve knit shirt in the 3 button style or turtle neck depending on weather. over this he usualy throws a leather jacket of various lengths, or a trench in times of inclimate weather. his glock is constantly in his waste band and is usualy boulstered with the revolver and/or the holdout. there are also ascessory items such as vests, hoods, bandanas, etc. moast of these cloths have armor, some more than others for use in meetings in bad areas, some with less to presurve a more stylish look and feel, it depends day to day. he go's for the GQ business casual look since it is as stylish as he can get while still remaining a)wearable for extended periods and b)non corp apearance, since the next step up, a suit, would scream corprat affiliation and cost him business.

     

     

    richard wrath was born to corprat parrents in 1992. his parrents worked for militech in their arms design branch. his father was an acomplished weapons designer and his mother was placed as his design assistant as part of his contract with the company. his earily years were care free, he lived in comfort in corprat suburbia and participated in all the social circles. however 2 things set him apart from the norm. one was his fassination with weapons, his other was his uncanny knack for figuring out what people wanted and getting it for them, for a price of course. he was able to indulge his first interest in his fathers work space, which had among other things a firing range and a supply of production weapons for testing. his second was a real boon for him in the corprat schools. he was THE guy to see when you wanted something. planning a party, go see wrath he's got the hookups. need some mussle to back your play in the lunchroom, half the football team was on his payroll, he got everything and anything. of course the fun couldent last forever. when he reached college the corps stoped turning a blind eye to his dealings. at first they had seen him as a potential street resource to be shaped into a company asset to do their deals on the street, but his long list of offenses and total lack of

    respect for their authority painted the picture of someone that dident BELONG in their midst, he was a bad influence and they decided to make an example of him. his father had also been plagued by failed projects and some accidents while trying to realize electro thermal firing systems for a radical new weapon the company had plans to build. the family was removed from corp housing and his parrents were released from their contract with the company. richard adjusted suprisingly well to life on the street, his parrents had only what they had carried with them in the family car (they had been given 1 houre to pack, wasent that sweet of them) and 2 megar severans checks. with this they rented a slummy 2 room apartment in the combat zone. richard's father wasent out of work for long, he was in high demand in the tech circles and started earning enough to get by doing repairs and upgrades for solos weapons. it was about this time when richard caught wind that there was money to be made down

    soulth, althow the government had officialy ended the soulth am conflict it was still being fought and with war as alwayse come the scavangers to pick up after it. richard grabed a few of his friends from the street and they headed down mexico way where they set up a good business buying captured weapons off soilders from bolth sides. when the war started to stagnate and the weapons stoped comming in the group went their seperate ways, or more apropriatly richard took off with the guns when the federalies raided their wherhouse. when he got back to night city he was suprised to find to shockers awaiting him. first was that his father had moved up on the street, becoming the in house weapons gurue for the local mob (old school itilian mafia in this case), the second was that his mother had been killed in unrelated gang violence while shopping at the local 24/7 food mart, the mafia has alwayse made it a point to look after its own and this was no exception, the gang responsible vanished from the face of the earth within weeks and it is belived no one survived, at least as far as known members go. the mob offered richard enterance into the family but he respectfully declined, however he does have a blood relative in the family so he is "connected", in other words exempt from mob violence,

    protection rackets, takeovers, etc. however even thow he isn's an "earner" it is expected that when a big score comes his way he kicks back a tribute, to show good faith the the family. he can also to a minor extent call on the mob's

    resourses in times of dire crisis, but he tries to avoid using this trump card since its use is limited based on his fathers status. he currently has set up shop above a bar, which he helped to fund with venture capitol by selling off a good chunk of his soulth am stock-piles and loaning the funds to the owner of the bar, instead of interest he got to pencil in his own apartment and workshop into the second story of the building, an office on the ground floor, and some storage space below for his weapons. he reecently acquired some chineese imports to bring  back his stock on hand but this hassent been enough to meet the demand given the limited scope of the models available, so he has also taken to buying used weapons and fixing them, then re selling them at high

    markups. he also has acess to a small crash pad in mob controled territory, a real shit hole but its not ment to see mutch use, it just houses some of his stores of weapons, as well as some basics to sustain life like some inflate a beds, kibble bars, and a solodrinker to keep his spirits up. his stocks are split 10/40/50, between his emergency crash pad, his storage beneath the bar, and the group's wearhouse respectivly. richard is an odity as people go, one minute he can have you thinking he's a preverbial corprat fish out of watter with his snazzy dress and his cultured mannerisms and speach, the next he can make your head spin as he slips into his cold calculating business face. he's a profiteer, he'll use whatever aproach he feels will garner the best results, meek and personable or in your face/my way of the highway, it makes no difference to him. as mentioned before he has an affinity for weapons and as sutch he tends to pack a bit heavier than the standard fixer on the street, if sutch a thing really exists, but compared to most edgerunners his armament is pretty standard. he packs day to day, and changes based on the present conditions. he also has acess to a nice set of wheels, an older model toyo-chevy suburban cira 2005. it was aparently sold off from a corprat fleet and then picked up by a private family from a dealer, from whence it was promptly

    picked up and sent to a mob run chop shop where richard acquired it. while it was there he had the techs do some improvements and maintence, as well as installing new apulstry and a great entertainment system. beyone that when richard isn't dealing he is a verry nice person, verry personable and quite good friends with the crew, but when

    john connor grew up in what had once been a fairly nice nehirborhood, about 30 years earlier, but had slowly degraded into a combat zone durring the collapse, and worsened since. john lived with his parrents, older brother robert, and his younger twin sisters, sandy and mandy. john spent his formative years learning how to survive on the mean streets of the 21'st century. he hung with a few small time juvie gangs and watched his friends die off in random violence, or simply bleed out in the street since nobody wanted to risk taking them to a hospital. john would best be described as an unpredictable, moody, and head strong individual with a tendancy to be a bit rash in his judgements. john is all about having a good time, and although he is a smart individual he sometimes forgets himself, of forgets to think things out rather, when in search of a good time. john looks up to his older brother, and is quite close to him to this day.

    16- when john was 16 something happend that changed his life forever. a russian moved into the run down apartment next door, and as john and his brother soon learned, the man was a former soviot cyber grunt, having fled his homeland under accuzation of cowardace. this man turned out to be quite smart, smarter than one would expect at least. he would talk to john and his brother about the sights he had seen, places he had visited and the people he had killed. then one day he let slip he new quite a bit about the russian army's martial arts form, sambo. after mutch begging, pleeding, and in the end bribary (the poor man was broke after all), he agreed to teach john and his brother the art. (started a new skill at +2, sambo)

    17-inspired by the stories the russian had told them and board with their combat zone existance john and his brother robert enlisted in the army, hoping to see what was left of the world and possibly find a carrear that would interest them.(received 10k eb worth of cyberware for 4 year enlistment)

    18-durring his advanced combat medical expert training, the speciality he had chosen, john suffered severe trauma to his left hand and instead of having it replaced with vat grown he had a medical modular hand fitted.

    19- after shipping out for field training, meaning they send you to a war zone and see if you can save lives, john found a combat teacher stationed at the same base. since medics wern't supose to fight the army had not seen fit to train medics with weapons, although they did issue them pistols for show. fearing he may be in a situation where he would need it and not be able to use it, john asked and recived instruction in the propper use of a handgun from the base weapons officer. (start new skill at +2, handgun)

    20-lost a good friend: john was hit hard by his inability to save his friend tank durring an police action in some third world hole, who's name john has since forgotten. he blames himself because tanks injuries, although severe, were usualy quite routine to fix. unfortunatly john sliped durring surgery and hit something vital, what he never figured out, and tank quickly expired while under his care.

    21- john was honorably discharged from the army after fufilling his 4 year requirement. he returned back home to a number of suprises. first shocker, his parrents had been caught in the cross fire between to rival street gangs while going to work, and the military not wanting to loose the use of one of their personel for any period of time due to mourning, kept this information from him, that and his twin sisters letters requesting financial assistance as they were left to fend for themselves. which led into shocker number 2, the pair of young attractive twins turned to one of their parrents associates for help, and he in turn pointed them to the only profession they could undertake with no skill or prior experience, in short he sent them to see a madam that ran a high priced call girl outfit for corprat big wiggs. the girls have been in high demand since they started, and they dont have any financial problems any more, however they have all new problems to deal with. their madam introduced them to designer drugs to keep them working, and every once in a while john gets a call late at night to rush down to corp zone apartment and flush outor revive one of them after an OD.robert was discharged around the same time and he quickly found employment as a collection agent for a mob loan sharking outfit. john mean-while did what he had been taught to do, patch people up, but now he charged for it. he was befriended by a local booster gang after reviving their criticaly wounded leader, he gained some pull with the gang favor wise and they let him park his rv in their zone. they even offer limited protection to it while he's out.

    22-love affair with problems. robbert met natasha, a tech, while out clubbing and they hit it off right away. robert fell hard for her but she dident return the sentiment, she likes him but also fools around with other guys.

    23-john and natasha worked things out, and natasha agreed to get more serious about the relationship, and she did for a while, then she just dissapeared without a trace one day. john took this verry badly, and sliped into minor breakdown which included drinking to excess. he is currently still like this, but is slowly pulling himself out of it.

    john stands about 5'5, weighs aproximatly140lbs, and has a generaly athletic build. he is somewhat small by comparrison to the towering edgerunners he commonly works with, but the muscle/bone lace ensures he'll have the strength to drag them out of the line of fire without issue. his hair is about shoulder length, straight, & black in color with a greesey look to it (i'm going for the travolta look from pulp fiction for the hair). his eyes no longer exist, so their collor is of little importance, but the cybernetic visor that spans the width of his eye sockets is unfinished gray with a black screen. he dresses in edgerunner clothes and has earned the nickname blade because of his signature pice of kit, a large combat style knife worn on his hip (ala rambo style/size).

     

     

     

                     

  5. ok, i've got a question for gun guru's in the room. it seems magnum research inc., the lovely people that brought you the desert eagle line of pistols, as well as the lone eagle single shots, has toped itself again in the great "my gun's bigger than yours" debate. just reecently they released the BFR! yes, it means exactly what you think it does, big fine revolver. any hoo i'll cut to the chase, i want to use this thing in game ever so badly, and since it actualy exists now it'd be hard for a gm to say no. i realize final specs will be up to him but i wanted the opinino of you guys first. what, in your educated opinion, would the cp specs for this gun be? i'll throw in some tech specs from their web site to help, and the link to a picture for you to drool over :http://www.magnumresearch.com/old/images/guns.jpg

    the thing is available with a 7.5 or 10 inch barrle, is of stainless steal construction, has a 5 round cilinder that can be chambered, among others, for the 45-70 round or the 444 marlin round. a reviewer was quoted as shooting a .75 inch group of five rounds at 25yards with the 45-70 version with a 10 inch barrle. so people, what do you think?

     

     

  6. there's a movie called the corruptor that might help with chineese triad stuff, also for mob stuff there's alwayse the professional and donie brasco. another cool source if you can get to it is the soprano's, their first season is avalible on vhs and dvd i belive, and they've got a few different hits in it from an up close silenced .380 through the eye socket to an improvised garrot to strangle a snitch. all very good.  it really depends on why the hit is being done as to how that end is acomplished. if they're not to pissed at you they'll pull indirect stuff like cutting the break lines or rigging a bomb or having a gang gun you down. if they're pissed then you'll get the personal treatment which may or may not mean a protracted, drawn out and painfull death.

  9. well i have no clue where that is, but i do know that a play by poast game i'm in is looking for several slots to be filled in any of its 5 different treads. if you'd be interested, and you're 18 since yahoo designates it an adult club, then drop the gm a line at   shadowwolf1313@earthlink.net

    the game runs pretty fast as online games go, and the gm is starting up a new tread currently, so you could get in on it at the start. any hoo, just thought i'd throw that your way incase you're interested. later

  10. when it comes to weapons everybody's got their own personal prefference, for either utility or style or bolth. hers's a few of my favorites:

    suprising stranger(a 15eb pistol you can hide anywhere with 10mm power to rip unarmored targets away)

    spitfire(50eb more than the so overused cold amt, for that you get 4 more rounds in each clip, an added 1 to your accuracy, and an added point to rof if you can get a tech to preform the mod)

    glock 30 (slap a 20 in that puppy and you can hide it in a pocket, or my personal fave, up your arm in a quick draw rig. set the thing to 3rd burst and you've got +5acc out to medium range.10mm power, and staying power with the larger 30rd mag's, the best of ereything, if possibly comming short in sheere knock down power)

    sub fletchet gun(a flack boy's worst nightmare, quarters armor sp, throws 6 penetrators with each shot, 18 on the 3rd burst mode, there's nowhere to hide from it unless you've got hardsh*ll)

    sawn off shotgun loaded with thermite(for less than 300eb you too can have this devistating one shot street cannon. the pattern modifiers cancle each other out so you get a 3m cloud of burning hot thermite comming right at you, dealing 8D6AP and taking forever to heal.note: throw away after 10 shots unless you need an excuse to get a cyberarm replacement)
