Is there a Cyberpunk2020 facebook group or any group for the Talsorian games?

An arrest for making parts that might, in some situation, have been parts that could be assembled into a gun? No gun, no barrel, no collection of parts that could be assembled into a gun - wow, just wow. I have a spring on my desk, which could go into a zipgun - but it came out of a carburetor. Are we now categorizing as firearms anything that could be made into a firearm?

Let's see - gas pipe - zipgun barrel. Springs - zipgun parts. Unformed plastic - raw materials for making a gun!

This level of paranoia, coupled with all those security cameras - you'd think they were trying to be America.

Much worse than America. In all but areas with defacto bans on firearms here in the US most places have no problem with you making your own firearms from scratch. Heck we have people posting their how too pictures and video's all the time.

The Kicker with that arrest is that the parts in question are in fact printer upgrade parts.

I have never put my players in a situation where they didn't have a way out. The PCs in my games have a role to play in the events of the world. I personally scale most of my encounters to my PCs and what they can do. I reward player ingenuity as IRL I deal with people who build things for a living.

I know that I have left a Fallout game using NWOD rules because the GM was screwing everyone over for supplies and people were only surviving by luck and minimaxing to munchkin levels. It was really frustraiting as you couldn't do anything to prevent your character from being fucked over by the GM and then killed.

That was a Bullshit way to GM a game.

Personally if a PC has the skills to better their situation they should be allowed to use those skills.

That being said have I killed players? Not really as the player's actions are what got them killed. I was more than content to break their stuff and leave them as a cripple. Then again one of those two players once went through ten Cyberpunk PCs in an hour(no I was not the GM for that). Basically the Player played their character as too stupid to live.

Since moving up to Oregon I'm in better shape than I've been in years.

Then again I'm currently in a fun play by post GURPS-Cyberpunk game.

I have a friend of mine walk out of the film halfway through.

Basically it was rather ham fisted in it's supposed message and there are a lot of parts where several friends ended up saying that couldn't happen period. Basically these friends are in technical fields and several of the scenes are simple not plausible.

I'm wondering how long it's going to be before we start seeing "Letters of Marque" being printed again and I know we are already seeing the Naval version of Private "Security" Contractors.

As the Greenpeace fleet have legally been declared pirates in multiple countries I'm just waiting for some Armed Naval vessel to light up the Sea Shepard group when they don't heave to and permit boarding.

Well with the unsanctioned release of the arrest photos, the idea that he was shot in the throat prior to the arrest has been completely debunked.

Not totally as he has blood all over him and we cannot see almost half his face and neck.

Remember the hole in 'Murph's leg? that was made by a bullet and it was not very big. You would be looking for a hole about 1/5th of an inch across and such a wound could easily be hidden in the shadows of that picture.

Really we would need to see a current photo of the suspected terrorist A-hole and the scars such an injury makes before we make a judgment. Heck we tried to save the older one's life after the younger one ran him over.

The NAACP does have some truth behind their issues - a black woman is currently serving a fairly long prison term in Florida for firing a gun into the ceiling when her estranged, abusive husband ignored the restraining order to follow her into her house and threaten her.

As far as that woman goes I have listened in on a couple of firearms experts discuss that case and the Woman was guilty as sin for what she was charged with. Basically while the guy was a shitbag the woman was the armed Aggressor.

As far as Zimmerman goes "Stand your Ground" had no meaning in this case as it was a clear cut case of self defense. According to the Evidence Martin was on top of Zimmerman when he was shot. meaning that Zimmerman couldn't run if he wanted to. Plus if you remember the testimony of Martin's Girlfriend, Martin had evaded Zimmerman and was before the shooting on his dad's front porch. Meaning that to get to where the shooting happened he would have had to run down a block and around a corner in order for a confrontation to happen. This means that Martin was looking for a fight. Once you start looking for a fight Self-Defense no longer applies to you as you are the Aggressor.

Well the judgment is in and Zimmerman is not Guilty for the Killing of Travon Martin.

Looking at what wasn't shown in the courtroom but by Martin's own Facebook and twitter pages he was well on his way to becoming an all too common street thug. In fact when you combine Skittles, Arizona Watermelon Ice Tea and Robutussin you get very high due to the DXM I don't really know how much of the stuff Martin drank but according to his social feeds he used it more than he did Marijuana. I've met a few people who did that sort of thing and they were not stable people.

Really in looking at the facts Martin was a "dead man walking" as he was on a downward spiral into the inner city drug culture. I'm sorry that Zimmerman had to run into the young man.

Jagged Alliance and all its various sequels are currently pretty cheap on GOG (www.gog.com). I actually picked up a copy of the core game again (for the ease of having one stored digitally and to run fire-and-forget rather than having to fiddle with DosBox myself), and immediately got sucked back into the addiction... I think the fiancée is starting to get jealous of the time I spend in company of Ivan, Grunty and Speck on Metavira island...

I've passed along the PDF to some friends of mine in the shooting industry and we are wondering what they are not telling us about this "Uber" rifle ammo. For everything there is a tradeoff and with this round we don't know what they have traded to get the supposed results of using this round.

Speaking of Skillchips does anyone else recall the rules on them from the "Hardwired" supplement? Meaning that there are limits to what a Chip will let you do and eventually you learn the skill if you use the chip enough.

If you ask the government to hang a US citizen who the government claims (through a confession most certainly gained by torture) helped another US citizen kill three people because said citizen is not willing or unable to incriminate other US citizens then the government can apply that to all US citizens who they claim are involved with killing three (or perhaps less? One? Conspiracy to kill one?) people.

 

That means, you trust the government to never confuse you or someone you love with someone they might actually be looking for. Because if they do and they have this precedent then you can hang just as easily.

I am not asking the US government to hang an Innocent man. I am asking the Government to hang the accomplice of a known terrorist. We have video of one of the brothers planting the bomb and the other brother made no attempt to turn in his brother or to turn himself in to the authorities after said bombing. In fact when confronted by law enforcement the younger brother was so unwilling to turn himself in he ran over his own brother's body. That is not the action of an innocent man. After he was captured we did not torture him in fact we gave him the best medical treatment for his injuries available. When he was capable of responding we did interrogate him. Is interrogation torture...I know of a War College instructor and Lawyer who can debate that. We did not use "enhanced Interrogation" on him. In fact like most Terrorists said accomplice has effectively bragged about the actions of himself and his brother.

Since the accomplice is a US Citizen the question comes up did he swear an Oath of Allegiance to the United States Falsely. If he did not his act of Terrorism in the name of Radical Islam could be construed as committing an act of war in the name of a foreign power(treason). if he did swear a false Oath of Allegiance then his actions were that of a Saboteur. Both of those acts are Capital crimes.

In today's public events there are Dozens if not hundreds of cameras taking in the event. I am against government surveillance of the public as it does not hinder crime. What I am for is that if a private citizen happens to record an event like Boston. that they voluntarily turn in a copy of whatever footage they may have taken. This puts the power not in the hands of Government but in the hands of the people the Government serves. Mao is wrong about all power coming from the barrel of a gun. Power comes from the people of a land and is protected by the barrel of a gun.

I don't know what this SolidWorks counts as a true polymer one shot but it's pretty hideous looking. I quote:

I've actually gotten to examine a sample that one of my Local gun dealers managed to get his hands on.

There is a reason that he handed it to me like it was a live grenade without the pin. Basically it wouldn't reliably feed , the way you cock the firearm is an accidental shooting waiting to happen, and the ergonomics of it seem to be designed to be shot left handed pulling the trigger with your middle finger while standing in a turn of the 20th century dueling stance.

I.e. it's a very sucky firearm and the only reason the Local dealer brings it to gun shows it to warn people away from buying said firearm.

Well we had our first session tonight. It was on Google + and it was mostly a meet and greet and a session for people to get their characters Finalized.

Currently we have an Ex-military Corporate who works for Militech. a Former Corpsman who is a Militech employee as well and My Seagoing Nomad.

The introductory plot is rather simple we are taking part in an intercorporate competition on an island. Many teams (including the Aras) will enter and only one team is supposed to leave.

One of the best ways that I have found to deal with Progressives is to show that they do not know what the fuck they are talking about. 1. I am not the elected representative of Conservatives whatever the hell you mean by that. I am often times the only Conservative in a room full of Progressives and Liberals.
