I think this is the link you are looking for.

If you think that's bad you should check out the N.O.D. thread.

You are using a firewall aren't you? And I don't mean the one that comes with XP either. Zone Alarm is generally highly reccomended (and free).
-
Always remember Harry, people get promoted to their level of incompetence. Once you realise this you can finally understand management decisions.

"Hehehe! You hear turf war, think it a few kiddies, few junkies, yes? You walk in, film what you want, not have to pay, eh? You maybe not expecting gangbanger, da? You want to film, you talk to woman." Ivan gestures at the building behind him.
"You nice, you pay, you maybe not join O'Toole*, da? I got errand now. Go, talk."
Ivan hustles off back to the health food shop leaving a trail of bloody footprints behind him. If anyone thinks he looks ridiculous in his dressinggown they keep it to themselves.
*Peter O'Toole - a NC reporter who was killed and eaten live on air by Slaughterhouse because he didn't show proper respect. When you swim with the sharks, don't be surprised if you get bit.

That sounds like a rationalisation.
But most of the dickheads I see on the road have dicks, and I have yet to refuse to get into a car with a woman based on the way she drives.

On the other hand, women have lower insurance premiums because they make less claims because they have less accidents. Go figure.
-
Not to mention the number of socialists who've never worked a day in their lives.
-
No, that would be the Dungeons and Dragons movie. If I had both dysentry and cholera, and a rat had crawled up my ass and died, I could still sh*t nicer things than that film!

Quote (encanta_anima @ Jan. 18 2004,13:03) Every large protest movement's got to be started somewhere, and that somewhere is more often than not the universities and over-engaged people with high ideals. The problem is that most of the people in the Uni's are sheep. They haven't spent any time actually thinking about the issues and simply mindlessly repaet the recieved slogans and arguments so they can fit in with the rest of the anti-establishment crowd (at least until they graduate and get a job).

Don't forget non-stick frying pans. Wasn't that worth spending a couple of billion on?

Quote ([M8]-HARRY @ Jan. 17 2004,07:57) But if there not calling it racist there calling it in-humane (sp?). So does that mean solitary confinement prisions and prisons in general should be disbanded?
Personally i see it as legally justified.Prisons are a whole separate topic. On the racism aspect, there's a lot of talk in the papers over here about being swamped with asylum seekers, reminiscent of Enoch Powell's famous River of Blood speach. fo course, noone wants to come right out and say 'we don't want darkies here', so immigrant becomes a code word for it (strangely enough, the largest immigrant population in Britain is white Europeans, although they probably didn't have any trouble getting in).
On the topic of prisons, should you keep them as criminals while you deal with them? Well, that's one for your conscience to decide. But what you have to rememer is that there are two conflicting approaches to treating prisoners. You can punish them for what they've done (which feels good, but doesn't stop them reoffending), or you can reform them so they don't do it again (which doesn't feel good, but does lower the crime rates and prison population). Unfortunately, you can't have both.

OOC: Ivan wait? More chance of winning the lottery, methinks.
"Heheheheheh! I think you not understand, you pay for footage you shoot, or I make you eat camera, da? If you nice, maybe I give you interview, eh? If not I give you to pretty lady, not so good for you, I think."

Here. You've got to see the Real McKenzies, they were absolutely awesome last year - Canadian Scottish FolkPunk! And they've got Chas and Dave too! -
Quote (ChalkLine @ Jan. 16 2004,00:12) Illegal Immigrants:
Exactly as the words say. A person or persons who emmigrate in violations of a country's laws.
I have a good mate who's English, but cannot emmigrate to Oz because he has a heart condition and may in the future rely on our health system to the detriment of our country. I'm not happy about it, and I'm even less happy when I see people come from halfway across the globe to sneak across the border on the last leg in a leaky boat (the 'children overboard' fiasco always seems to ignore that the ship was scuttled by the inhabitants for some strange reason). Why are people 'who fear for their lives at home' so strident about their access to one particular country when it's the tenth one they've landed in? It couldn't be because of economics, could it? Perhaps I'm too cynical, but it seems my mate who abides by the law is being hard done by.you're right, that is unfair, but what can you do?
What I'm pointing out is that you have to be careful of the way that the illegal immigration issue is being used as the acceptable face of racism.

Democracy isn't the best political system, but it is possibly the least worst.

Quote ([M8]-HARRY @ Jan. 16 2004,05:57) Thats the crux of it right there. Your looking for a job. From what ive seen some of the people in question only look for work because they have to, or else no more social security. And my point was that the country where you're born or the colour of your skin has very little, if anything, to do with that.

Like any genre of music, some are average, a fraction are good, a tiny amount are great and the vast majority tends towards sh*t. As for skaterpunk, I think a lot of it's problems are simply down to the way it's been marketed at the preteens. But still, if it leads them into listening to better punk/ska who are we to complain?

To inject a note of realpolitik in here, the US is quite happy for us to protest their human rights violations because there's not much we can actually do about it. Might may not make right, but the biggest stick usually wins the argument.

Best fantasy death: This is from a 1st Ed AD&D game
We we walking through a ravine when some giants appeared on the top on either side and started chucking rocks at us. The Druid cast Wall of Fire on one side to keep them back, which worked. My mage decided to go one better and cast Wall of Stone on the other side. Being as he cast it on the edge of the ravine it wasn't all that well secured, as we found out when the giants pushed it over on us.

Have you clicked on the link? It's a joke.
As for the fingerprinting thread, I always think these things are far better exposed to the cold harsh light of reason rather than left to fester unsaid.

Freshly clean, Ivan puts his still-bloody shoes on and goes for a walk. Initially, he intended to go and get his vitamins, but upon seeing the reporter he changes direction.
"Hey! I be press secretary! You pay for footage, da? How much you pay?"

Whyat you have to remember is that Cyberpunk combat is one of the more deadly systems. You can, and will, regularly die from a single headshot.

No offence, but I suspect you think this because you're 16. Unfortunately, there really are a lot of incompetent bosses out there. I work in a shop and its painfully obvious that upper management have never worked on a shop floor (I sometimes wonder if they've ever even been in a shop).
