  1. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

    a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

    a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

    a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

    a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

    a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

    a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace;

    a time to care about game rules, and a time to concentrate on the story; a time to play the setting, and not the system.

    Amen.

    Play in the setting you want with the system you want. Whether V3's system is all gold and chrome or rust and tar is irrelevent to me. I play with the systems I'm familiar with because I can then concentrate on telling the story.

  2. No, it really is my fault. I'm wanting to inject some colour but then I havent been posting fast enough for it to be just some colour and not a major encounter. Buying some drinks has only been a couple of posts but it's taken me a couple of weeks to get past it. I need to break out of the habit I've fallen into of thinking 'I'll post in a bit', 'I'll just do this first and then I'll post', 'I'm too tired now, I'll post tomorrow' and get this game moving again.

  3. I was assuming that everyone was going to the hospital. If you want to stay behind you can, but there's not much happening there. Nigel and Andrea are going off to summon some entities in the hopes of getting some answers, not somewhere the uninitiated get invited (unless you're a sacrifice ;) ).

  4. Matching his dancing to the rhythms of Ling's movements, he takes a swig before passing the bottle to her. Fingers touch in the exchange, a jolt of party fever, aftertaste of honey and sugar-rush, nerves alight and suddenly sensitive to body, clothing brushing skin, the feel of muscle and rhythm, dancing in the open air, sweaty worship to the glories of being alive at this very moment.

  5. Karol leads Ling onto the sand and into the comforting embrace of the music. Finding the rhythm easily he starts to bop, gently letting the joy of the crowd flow through him, damming it up in his mind to be released when the party starts to flag. For a man his age he moves well, somehow not looking out of place in his suit amongst the sweaty dancing nomads. Snagging a quarter full bottle of tequila off a passing reveller he starts to work at bringing Ling out of her shell.

  6. "That sounds like an excellent idea, Jester! God said there is a time for all things and this is clearly the time to dance. What do you say Miss Ma, will you join me?"

    His warm, safe hands encourage Ling up and on her feet, his eyes look into hers seeking her reaction, his mind receptive to her feelings.

  7. OOC: Karol, not Karlov. He's Polish, not Russian. ;)

    Karol shakes Jester's hand and reaches out to enfold Ling's nervous fingers in his own solid, reassuring grasp. "It is always a pleasure to meet new friends."

  8. Karol sits up straighter and looks around at the others weighing them up, clearly no doddering old fool. A man in his sixties, his energy and sharp mind belie the silver hair and wrinkles that reveal his age. His hat and coat lie neatly folded over his doctors bag, his dark woolen suit somehow not looking out of place in the tent. He pulls at his walrus-like mustache as he contemplating his words before speaking.

    He clears his throat and says, in a voice that still carries the cadences of distant Krakow "Good Evening, I am Karol, Uncle Karol to the children or Doc Polack to the adults," he smiles and half-shrugs depreciatingly, "I can get transportation if it is needed, although I can't make promises as to it's condition, but it would be enough to take all of us."

  9. Everything they've ever "known" has been proven to be wrong. A thousand years ago everybody knew as a fact, that the earth was the center of the universe.

    Although we now know that it is the centre of the universe, and the sun revolves around it. :blink:

  10. I did get a good concept for a character that I don't know if it would fit anywhere but I'd sure like playing it, because I'm that kind of person. I recently had a financial boost (student loans), so am planning on purchasing pvc corset, suspenders, hotpants and stayups in black/blackish (preferably shiny!) colours and possibly something to cover my arms because my fingers will freeze and turn into barren clumps of frozen meat that could be hacked off otherwise. Gas masks are cheaply made available at the Swedish military surplus store.

    I'm not sure that would work. I think we'd need to see some pictures just to be sure. :rolleyes:

  11. Robert "Bobby Bells" Davids

    One of the perennial Scottish homeless alcoholics this city has to offer, the nickname comes from his favourite tipple. He appears to be in his mid-late forties, remains coherent when sober, avoids the police for the most part (its not clear why but he doesnt trust them), sleeps rough on the streets of Wandsworth unless its very cold in which case he usually goes to the salvation army shelter.

    Wandsworth is about 20 minutes away by car.

    Its still cold out, but not bitterly so. Last really cold snap ended about 3 weeks ago.

    The information from Bobby has come through a local information broker (Nosy Waj) who passed it on since the description (blond white guy, weird spooky shit) could fit your guy. Since it's provided on-spec, the info is free unless it turns out to be useful in which case he'll expect a favour of similar value in return. He wont say where he got the information from.

  12. Sorry, I'm in the process of going over the characters and I'll be getting back to everyone about them by Monday at the latest. I'll be on chat tonight and tomorrow evening if you want to discuss anything.
