I totaly agree, fingerprint and DNA sample everyone when they are born or enter the country! this SHOULD be done already! microchipping should also be compulsorary! its gotta cut the serious crime in half!

Sure would take some of the hassle out of the crimes where the person was asian in appearance(its just an example, no offence intended). As many people of asian linage, do tent to look simular in appearance at first glance to their comman man. Which helps the cops heaps im sure.

  2. all the talk of Harry Potter reminds me of an article i read in the paper, about a group of people who belive Harry Potter is a GAY ANTI-CHRIST.

Go figure, its all just fiction.

And getting back to the nature of the topic for a minute, i think the sound of music, would scratch in my list of movies i can watch but hate.  My mum loves that movie.

  3. Ben turns to richard.

"Thats ok, as long as the equipment is accounted for. Its just with the problems were having im just worried about any unauthorized access."

Ben turns back to finish up his enquirey in the system, then logs off.

"so whats the plan. what happens when the OTV lands with the ice?"

Indeed, but if there is enough water it means that it makes the building of a base easier, as they can break the water down into oxygen and hydrogen, so they'd have air to breathe...

Dont forget, Hydrogen to burn, as a fuel source, or a means to generate electricity.

That's true, but my point was that the race to be first can end in shoddy workmanship... something which the Americans especially have a bit of a reputation for, and has resulted in the loss of lives.

Remember there are some things out there that could be buggering up stuff that we dont yet fully understand. But we all know about the simple things that can go wrong. Like one team working in metric and the other in imperial. But "such is life" and Ned Kelly couldnt have been more right with that statement.

Also, i think a setup for a mars mission, something along the lines of what they used in the movie "mission to mars" would be quite practical. With the green house for natural co2 removal. would also make things a bit more friendly.

  5. Ben goes over his console again, double checking and trying to make sence of what he is reading.

Ben speaks into the com unit.

"Ben to Richard. Richard has anyone been into the armoury as far as you know? Its showing up that someone has accessed it recently and im curious as to the reason why"

monthy python and blackadder as series

young frankenstein as a top movie (marty feldman is the best as Aigorrr)

    Yay, another python fan.  :D

  7. Well water or no water, the challenges of getting people to mars, then back to earth are astronomical. Not impossilbe by all means, but still no walk in the park. To be quite honest, i belive that if they send down some more probes built around the K.I.S.S. principal, they would work and be more cost effective than the rather complex jobbies that keep shutting down or burning up.

  8. Im affraid that Star Trek falls into the "Star Trek" listing.

Its too "clean and smooth" for cp. in my opinion. I know malek is going to have a go on the soap box about star trek, so i wont steal his thunder. But im a Trekkie, no worries there. Its all good value.

The tom clancy tele-movie adaptation of his net force books was a bit on the b grade side of things, but i feel the tech in that was good and reflects some very cp aspects.

I couldnt narrow it down, but as for movies, 13th warrior, the matrix, the blues brothers. As for tv shows, Hogans Heros, Stargate SG1, Star trek all series.

im tired atm, so i cant think of much now. but ill post again later.

And now for something completley different.

    MONTY PYTHON!

Best thing ever to grace a tv.

Problem with the Hague is that it could give Hussein a soapbox to air all the dirty deals he made with the US, France, Germany etc.

My view on that is, thats whats keeping saddam alive, His slilence could and will spare him from death, to a permanent holiday in some nice guest cell in some prison. I mean he would be deader than a month old road kill, with in a heart beat if he squealed. Then possibly making him a martyr to those that followed his rule.

  10. OOC: i was under the impression that ben was to stay aboard the vessel, perhaps in order to prepair for the otv's return. Also Ben is currnetly thinking that something major has happened and he is now on an internal security alert, and at first oppertunity is going to try and find any visable, or computer related security breaches, once the oxygen problem is in hand. BIC.

Ben starts to go about making preperations for the OTV's return. He also starts to look for any clues, or signs of security breaches of any kind. He is looking for clues as to how this disaster happened.

  11. Hey rocky, im just thinking/hoping that life has stepped in and made things a little complicated in lady grey's world. Now i know that we all get issues, but some times some people get hit harder than others.

Always remember Harry, people get promoted to their level of incompetence.  Once you realise this you can finally understand management decisions. ;)

And another goodie is "blood is thicker than water" SO many times have i seen people who would have an iq of equal or lesser value than a can of spam in big important jobs.

Q1. When approaching a roundabout, you will:
    (a) Be sensible.
    (B) Shift down a gear, accelerate rapidly, turn up your stereo, give everyone the finger and cut straight across the middle of the roundabout.

( c ) shift down a gear, then get your car sideways through said round about and look at the horrified faces of old people.

    just a thought.

How exactly does 18k amount to more than 2500k? Or perhaps I misunderstood something. >.<

perhaps its meant to read. 18,000 km/miles as compaired to 2500 km/miles. thats how i took it anyway.

    GET OFFLINE NOW!

If its still happening while you're offline, its possibly a software/hardware problem, but otherwise...it might be one of those backdoor trojan things...

    A bit rash.

First of all allow me to share some insight with laser mice. Check that the surface hasnt been polished recently. When my mum polishes the bench top my mouse goes a bit weird, till it dulls up. clean the laser. Check to make sure your usb or ps2 connection is tight, when they get a little loose ya mouse goes 3 sheets to the wind. If your using drivers supplied with your mouse, try unisntalling and re-installing. Or let windows use a generic one for it.

Now im not saying dont do the whole virus thing, by all means, just people tend to go "VIRUS VIRUS" a bit too early for my liking. Also there are programs on the net that make your mouse stutter, I had a program that was a parkinson disease simulator. well thats my bit.

The problem is that most of the people in the Uni's are sheep. They haven't spent any time actually thinking about the issues and simply mindlessly repaet the recieved slogans and arguments so they can fit in with the rest of the anti-establishment crowd (at least until they graduate and get a job).

Booky, become a large scale ceo over here and let me work for you. In my last big job, we had all these "space cadets" working in jobs that were a glorified w@nk. They had the hide to tell us what were doing wrong, and when we asked them where they served there time, all we got was a puzzled look, then followed by being told all about there uni degree and stuff. They knew absolutley squat, but knew it all apparently.

Scary thing is these peckers actually get religated into making big decisions. in some places anyway.

the ONE reason male insurance premiums are higher here, is because males put ALOT more sound system/body kit/art work in and on their cars, meaning they are more likely to be stolen...

*Insert violent coughing noises here* erm not quite. Yes blokes do invest more into cars, but there accident figures are higher than womens, well for under 25's anyway. But thats because WOMEN CAUSE SAID ACCIDENTS, by putting on the make up, chatting on the mobile, just generally doing everything but drive, when behind the wheel. And a statement released by the NRMA also said that womens figures are on the rise, and they tend to be responsible for accidents but tend to wind up being the innocent party.

Men have more skill at driving and pay better attention to what is going on around them but they are much more aggressive, tend to drive faster and make more sudden lane changes.

well that can be govened by location as well. I mean rural areas we speed because we can. i mean nothing better than hitting the local autoban and seeing if the speedo really does go around that far.  But from my observations from travelling to work everyday is that women are more prone to eratic and next to no notice lane changes.

now i ask you, where would mr and mrs average be without their personal computer?

Bit of a stretch considering that most cars managment computers are more advanced than the computers in the space shuttles. According to an article in the herald.

But look at it from my side of the coin. Sure you can throw billions at getting spy bases on the moon. or you can throw billions around and research the tech, build more hospitals, employe more cops, and fix your country up.

Now lets pretend for a minute that the whole moon base thing is for mars landing missions and stuff. we get probes and stuff to mars, WTF is it going to accomplish? well we will proli find out that it would need terraforming, as its got well nothing on it that would support life, a remote chance there could be ice, it does have bacteria, could be leathal. Just sounds like a tremendous waste of money to me.

Thats the crux of it right there. Your looking for a job. From what ive seen some of the people in question only look for work because they have to, or else no more social security.

And my point was that the country where you're born or the colour of your skin has very little, if anything, to do with that.

Well what can i say, its a complex issue.
