I have to agree with Necro's sentiments, except that I also really do not like children. Nothing can get me more irritated that some sprog either crying his lungs out or asking inane questions in a loud voice. Of course, perspectives can and do change.

Archie has some point but damnit, nerds and geeks need love too!

Yeah, I don't think there even are such things as purely humanitarian efforts in 2020.If there are, they're a part of someone's PR campaign

Quote (Karsten @ Nov. 15 2003,17:16) Also Democracy, Law, Alphabet, Internet, Courts, virtually every way to solve conflicts peacefully... Of those, I am willing to accept the Alphabet and the Internet as "good things".

Oooh, I have another! the International Date-a-Nerd Day!
-
aye, i agree.

Interesting question. I would go for an Internation Laziness Day, when everyone would just stay in bed. I mean everyone: cops, stockbrokers, hobos, politicians and what have you. Imagine the tranquility...
Then, of course, I'd go and rob a bank or two while everyone was snoozing.

Interesting...
I've sometimes wanted to strip my mind of the annoying hormonal urges and drive, but ultimately I came to the following conclusion: From the point of view of evolution, sentience and the ability to think are anomalies. being able to ask "who am i?" provides no immediate benefit. There are cases when our sentience is a majorflaw, preventing us from using our full capacity.
Some things are best left unpoked at by scalpel, methinks.

Quote (Bunnycakes @ Nov. 15 2003,02:40) Question Malek: if you did become a gender neutral, would you want to be called an "it" or a "shim"? Just cos this other person I was talking about isn't so much gender neutral, shim just doesn't like to have to choose to be one or the other, and prefers to just be whichever tickles their fancy for the day. How about the gender-neutral pronouns in Eurosource Plus? "Sie" and "Hir"?

Increase armor EV (especially according to weather conditions and such), roleplay the effects of the players walking everywhere with full kit on, have a sudden shortage of spares if the players are using cybernetic armor. Even in 2020, hanging around in full stormtrooper gear is a Bad Idea .
Oh, and take a magic marker and black out the section on Skinweave in the rulebook. This will save you from LOTS of trouble.

On a 1-10 scale? About a 7.6, methinks.

Necro: Don't you try to beat the master of public depression, yours truly. I've held a monopoly on that a loooong way back.
To the rest of you, I'd like to offer the following bit of wisdom. You have justified your own existence, time and again, by your collective wits, sense of humor and unbelievable patience in dealing with difficult issues (such as me).
To Bunnycakes, Chrysalis, Dog Soldier, Monk, Thumper, Bookwyrm, Malek, Bullet, Hanns, Rockwolf (+ puppy), Lady Grey, Boneshaker and all others, I offer my heartfelt thanks. Thank you for proving to me that at our best, humanity can truly be the place where the falling angel meets the rising ape.

Yeah, of course it was a major paradigm shift, but still... What I loved is that Bane sounded almost exactly like Smith, so much that I was left wondering whether Weaving did his voice too.

This counts as humor? My, my...
(Aga needs a dosage of something, most likely *****)

I'll enter service in January 2005, expecting to be booted after the first psychological screening for being utterly unfit for duty (which I am).

I saw Crouching Tiger and it was nothing special to me. The kung-fu failed to be cool, instead bordering on the ridiculous. Hell, I bloody yawned at the forty-minute mark and changed the channel so I could watch Tom & Jerry. Of course, I do hate martial arts movies, as a rule. No, that's not it.
I loathe them.
Well, I suppose I could keep on justifiying why I thought Matrix Revolutions was worth the 6 ebucks, but there really is no point, is there? It's just a movie, nothing remarkable on the grand scheme of things.
Then again, neither is mankind.

I agree with the Soldier and the Wyrm, and would like to point out that I have never ever done anything worthwhile in my life.

Yes, we need to get something happening here, rowdy indeed. First, we need some kind of topic.
-
This all just goes toward proving my theory, which goes something like this: A person interested in something is almost always unable to abide any handling of his interest by the mass media industry.
Martial artists cannot tolerate martial arts movies, computer geeks cannot stand movies about computer hacking, car enthusiasts scoff at car movies, and so on and so on...
I liked Matrix Revolutions. Why? Hell, Cypher said it best: "Ignorance is bliss".

Nice to hear that, I hope everything works out for the best for you.

In Dante's words: "Lasciate ogni speranza, voi ch'entrante". Or something like that, my memory is not quite what I would like it to be. Welcome, Mr Necro, to the Edge. You may check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
Dradjeel says "Hi" as well.

Welcome back.

I liked Pirates of the Caribbean too, it was 100% entertainment. That's what I feel is lacking in too many pictures these days.

In the off chance you're wondering, there seem to be an inordinate amount of certain parallels between myself and Mr Necro there. In some cases, that has been slightly disturbing indeed.
