I thought they were climbing all over the BMP too actaully.

Jason does little except lie there bleeding, and perhaps reaching for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Positional error. I thought Jason was on the other side of the convoy and out of the main firing arcs.

It happens.  

Putting rocks in the gunbarrels? Didnt I just say that?

I'll pass on using any luck points for Jason.

Jason drags Doc clear and makes sure he's still alive.

Looking up at the sudden silence, he notes Cutters men bumbling about the BMP.

"Bloody hell." he mutters.

Jason will look around for a nice fist sized rock, then scurry over to the BMP.

Using shards of the broken track that the RPG hit, he'll hammer some in the end of the autocannon barrel to block it.

"There. They fire that thing now they'll blow themselves up." Nikolai, tell them that in Russian."

Jason will then check for any radio antennae on the BMP and destroy them.

Jason looks up at the rotating BMP turret, curses and looks at his fellow medics/techies.

"Move it! Lets get the wounded as far out of the way as possible!"

Getting up into a crouch, he grabs the Doc and starts to haul him towards the last truck.

"Oi! General Failure!" he yells at Cutter as he moves "How do you plan on knocking out a BMP with assault rifles?"

Jason gets slightly miffed about now.

"Look, Colonel F*cking Blimp! I don't care if you were in the perfoming Dolphins at Seaworld! We're taking heavy weapons fire from an unknown force holding superior terrain, and they dont give a sh!t who we are, they're gonna keep shooting 'till we cant shoot back! And when Sov-Oil reinforcements show up and clean the other lot out, they're gonna ask awkward questions about a bunch of  jarheads running around with metalgear and assault rifles!"

"If you grunts were to piss off and stop drawing fire on our position they probably wouldnt bother shooting at the wounded and you could come back for us later!"

Jason spits on the ground "I knew if I had to work with the bloody gung-ho yanks this would happen!" he grouses as he turns away and goes to the wounded to see what he can do to help.

Jason shimmies back under the pipeline and crawls across to Nikolai.

"We can slip under the pipe and get away down the mountainside, but I dont think we can take the wounded with us." he shouts over the gunfire. "I'll stay here with those wounded to move, I know battlefield first aid. Semper Fudge and all that bull."

"You guys take the guns and sod off outa here. If we aren't a threat they might not fire on us. I know a little Russian, when SovOil reinforcements show up it'll be easier to pose as simple engineers if we dont have a team of goons in metalgear with us."

OOC Right, so Jason is now on the other side of the pipeline. Is there enough space to walk, and how steep and treacherous is the gradient downwards? Is there another road or anything below?

And can we get the wounded underneath the pipeline?

Can we get under the pipeline or do we have to go over it?

"We'll be pinned down here until they run out of ammo or the SovOil boys call in some serious fire support." Jason yells to the others. "I'm gonna make a break and see if the covers better on the other side of the pipeline!"

Steeling himself, Jason makes a break for his hole in the fence and goes over or under the pipeline and stops on the reverse face of the mountainside to see if he's well out of harms way there.

OOC :

Is the pipeline is between us and the side of the mountain where it falls away, or between the road and the mountian where the mountianside goes up?

Can we see where the mountain drops off and does it look like we can climb down the side of if to get some cover?

As the others have already made for the trucks to rescue the wounded, Jason will turn his AK on the fence and try his best to cut down a support pole with autofire, thus giving them some sort of escape route.

Looking at the burning SovOil vehicle, then looking around for the source of the incoming, he yells out. "Anyone have a white flag? Maybe those bozos with the Artillery dont know we aint SovOil!"

Without waiting for a reply, he begins to work his way along the ditch until he can get as close to the second vehicle as possible and see if he can see who's alive inside without breaking cover too much.

Jason cocks his AK and pokes his head quickly outside of the truck to see whats going on.

Seeing the explosion somewhere to the read of our group, he reaches a conclusion.

"We're taking fire from arty!" he yells to the rest of the crew. "Bail out and scatter! We're sitting ducks in here!"

Jason jumps out of the rear of the truck and makes for the nearest cover, roadside ditch or something.

As soon as he's got something between him and everything else, he'll look around to assess the situation.

Jason jolts awake as the loudspeaker blares in Russian.

"What the hell's going on? I caught something to do with Stop or Halt."

He looks around the rest of the metalgear clad guys in the back of the truck.

"If one of them looks in here and sees us in this crap, we're screwed."

Jason strains his ears (and his knowledge of basic Russian) to see if he can pickup any of the conversation between Nikolai and the guards.

OOC - Never hurts to practice

"We have to wear metalgear to ride through town?" Jason asks incredulously. "Bloody hell, and I thought Dagenham on a Saturday night after Hammers had lost at home was rough."

Jason buckles himself into the metalgear, over the top of his kevlar t-shirt and jeans, and for added effect drapes his armour jacket over his shoulders after hauling himself into the truck.

"Anything else we ought to know before its too late to sneak back onto the airship?"

Jason gives the metal-gear long look.

"If you guys think I'm wearing that crap and getting on a boat, forget it. I'm wearing my own armour."

He snags himself a spare AK (if there is one, I lost count of how many people we have here) and a clip, loads it, checks the action and puts the safety on before getting into the truck with the other specialists.

Jason zips up his armoured jacket and rubs his hands breifly together for warmth as they walk over to the terminal building. His last posting in Wales wasnt the warmest place during winter so the cold doesnt bother him too much.

"What was that about Islamic extremist rebels, Nikolai?" he asks quietly when their fixer returns. "I dont seem to recall you mentioning that in the breifing. More importantly, whose side are they on?"

He fetches a coffee while he waits for the answer.

OOC - We do have our handguns, dont we?

Jason doesnt come out of his cabin until he's sure the airship is out of British Airspace.

"Damn, I'm actually gonna be glad to land in Ivan-ville." he says with a nervous laugh, and heads for the bar for a few drinks.

Jason spends the time at London locked in his cabin looking somewhat nervous, and continues practacing his Russian, which he does for the rest of the trip.

Jason finishes perusing the stores and goes back to the ship empty handed.

Jason will first off find a bank terminal and check/deposit his 1000eb signup bonus.

Then he'll check out the clothing stores and see if any of them sell armour and how expensive they are.

Okay, assuming someone actually points this out to Jason, he'll get an Azeri phrasebook and study it.

Otherwise he'll keep learning Russia

Jason will download any 'Russian for Beginners' or phrasebook type programs he can find on the ships minicomp and spend his free time studying them until the New York stopover.

He will take any opportunities he gets to check with Nikolai on local dialect / slang that may be appropriate.

OOC - Are we RPing 2 days on the airship or going to fast-forward to the New York stop?
