Why not use several smaller planes and devid the load?  Also, use a gas-electric vehicle instead of the hummer.  The result is that by reducing the loads of the aircraft more deployment flexiability is obtained and greater protection is enjoyed by the opperatives.

Got a few questions about max wake.  In the update, could you add Gas turbine propulsion, Gas turbine with second stage steam (powered by hot gases from turbo) turbo propulsion, and Diesel/Gas Trubo propulsion systems?  Also, can one trade hull spaces for a larger engine room?  Its not clear.  

Also concider seperating out radar systems into Navagation, Ship Detection/Rangefinding, Aircraft Detection/Rangefinding and Gunlaying.  It may be too much work for the payoff.  

Finaly, what about armor (ships are not uniformaly armored)?  Can we say have a "Compartmentalized engine room" that reduces damage to propulsion systems, optional armored "fortress" to protect propulsion machinery and magazines.  What about diffrent armor levels for the superstructure?  

Finaly about the Phalanx Anti-missle systems, why is the 30mm not more effective than the 20mm?

Here is the scenareo:

Guy with Payload rifle sights in on the campfire of a corp retreat.  The round hits and there are 4 corps within 1 M, 2 within 1.5M, 1 within 2M and 3 at 3.5M.  How would you do damage?

Basicaly it looks like a small (Licenced) arms manufacture that produces clones of out of patent firearms and accessories (probably ammunition also).  

Of cource instead of such a scattered product line, why not just say that they produce a series of weapons that use the ar180 action (good cheap and foolproof) and just vary by type, for instance:

AR-180R: "Classic" assault rifle in 5.56N, takes M16 magazines.  Also availiable as a carbine.

AR-180Bp: Bulpuped "PDW" variant.

AR-30: Scaled up to fire the 7.62N round from a FAL magazine.  

UDW: "Universal Defence Weapon" carbines in 9mm, .40, 10mm, and .45ACP Chamberings.  

Assorted 1911-type and polymer framed pistols in the same chambering as the carbines above.  

The firm also produces quite a number of accessories ("match" trigers, compatation quality barrels and accessory rails for their weapon systems.  

Weapons are well made useing a majority of stamped parts with forgings where neccessary and excelent polymer stocks (the sort that won't break when one borg but-strokes another).  

Of cource there will be other auto-lathes that produce weapons on the AK-system or the G3 roller delayed blowback action.

Basicaly it sounds like a good idea if you need to crack open armored cars.  Any other use is overkill.  We are talking about an AP shell that does 8D10+XAP damage, and a HE round that does somthing obscene (on the order of 8D10 Impact + 3D10 frag, 1.5M)

If you want to kill munshkins or take a rampaging borg, a 14.5KPV or 15.5FNMG round will do the same for much less (you need high speed, not massive explosive payload for armor pearching).

One thing to think about is the platform.  For instnace my Neturnning rig is a Linux box (26 y/o opperating system that is open source) and I wrote my own code, now even if the program gets crashed, its won't take the system with it.  However if running a shoddy opperating system (consumer grade) the machine will BSOD and crash.  So that is another reasion why wefly runners aught not to play with the big boys.

Concidering that Sadam Husain is a minor regional irritant, (we paid for the Iran Iraq war) and he thought that it was ok by the US to take Kuait (he read the diplomat the wrong way), I don't see that he is much of a problem as compared to Al Quada.  I would by far perfer to deal with one military/political problem at a time.  Untill Bin Ladin's head is on a pike in NYC (or equivilent), I would not wory about a tinpot dictator at this point.  Also, convincing poor mad, Kim Jong Il not reopen the bloody Korean war.  

In short as dispicable a character as Sadam Husain is, untill the second largest Saudi export -whabadism- is ended he is a minor anoyance in the grand scheme of things.  

And when the time comes to finaly remove him from power, let the Kurds get the weapons to do it themselves.

Got a few more:

Consumer NVG system:  Costs 850 eb and takes up no spaces.  A IR sensetive video camera is mounted fowards with two IR headlights.  The camera is connected to a clear polymer plate impernated with micro green LEDs that are used to overlay an immage on the black background.  With the basic IR headlights, it provides 60M of illumination.  High powered headlights provide 80M and add 60 eb to the system cost (200 to upgrade).  Ultrabright headlights provide 90M of useable illumination and add 150eb to the system cost (350eb to upgrade).  Note: anyone with an NVG will pick up on the car's movement.  (The system in MM is a little underpriced by my guestimation)

Fuelcell power center:  System of solar cells, electrolisys rig, H2 tank and fuel cell, provides remote power.  

Basic:  40 W of solar cells that can store up to 25 W of H2 in a tank that holds 450W/HR of power and a Fule cell that can produce 60W/HR of power continously.  2500 EB.  1 Space

Improvements: Adding aditional solar cells costs 500eb/aditional 20 W up to 600 W, thereafter it costs 700eb/20 W.  Remotely connected solar cells cost 650 EB per 24 watts and have 8M of cable to connect to the vehicle.   4 of these remote modules (24 Watt) take 1/2 space.  Enlargeing the H2 tank provides 100 aditional Watt/hrs per quarter space and costs 800 eb.  A larger fuel cell and sine wave generatior costs 500 eb / 40 watts for up to 300 W, thereafter it costs 650eb/40 W of capacity.  The standard electrolisys machine can produce enough H2 gas for 90 W/Hr of storage, beyond this it costs 200 eb per aditioal 15 watts up to 900 W, beyond 600 W, an extra half space is needed for the fuel cell.

Very common on nomad vehices, can charge while in motion or standing still, the remote pannels provide power charging while hiding the vehicel.  

40mm vehicle defence kit: Controll pannel wired to solionoid fired 40mm single shot gernade launchers.  Commonly on the rear and sides of vehicles.  The projectiles typicaly are HE (time detonated, set ahead of time), smoke, or CS shells.  The system is set to throw projectiles between 25 and 90M.  The basic control pannel costs 40 eb and then an aditional 450Eb/Launcher.  The system itself takes no spaces.  90 rounds of replacement 40mm gernades takes 1 space.  Shells are preprogramed with an allen wrench that is inserted in the noze and used to ajust the timer (effective for 20-120M).  The airbursting increases the damage radiuis vs the conventinal shell by 1 meter.

How about these:

Gas Electric (conversion):  Cost: adds 25% cost per point of SPD, increases range by 50% and takes up 2.5% of spaces (min 5).

Gas Electric (traction motor): new construction only. Adds 18% to SPD, increases range by 55% and takes up 2% of spaces (min 4)

Wankel Rotopower powerplant:  increases SPD cost by 10% and increases avialiable spaces by 4%, range is improved by 5%.

Just a thought but why not make all shotguns +1 to hit (as the standard) and say ranges are point-blank (-1 to hit), to 10M and then to 30M, with 40M being long range.  Beat the target number to hit by 2 and all the pellets hit, make the target number and half hit, miss by one and 1/4 hit.  They all strike the same area at short/medium range.  At long range some sort of table would be needed.  

Am I way off base with this?

I would expect that the average borg will "eat" and this will feed a bio-reactor that extracts neutrients where they will be used to support remaining neurological tissue and be put into storage.  Most Borgs use BioFuel (produced by a subsidary of Biotechnica) that costs 12 eb/day.  Other versions made by diffrent firms cost between 8 (cheap nockoffs that have the rep for causing infections) to 25 euro (pure price gouging, but comes in a neat no-spill packet).  

Of cource would be possible to mix up a curde substitute, but its time consumeing and can cause damage to biosystems.

Here is my take on it:  

1. SovOil, is a wholy owned subsidary of the russian goverment (or is it the other way around).  The use Russian army troops that they hire from the state and pay about 10 eb a week extra to (as long as all equipment is accounted  for...) encourage loyality.  They are joined at the hip.  SovOil does plastics research and has a nice bio-reactor opperation producing H2 and long-chain polymers used in lubrecants.  The russian goverment does encourage (when not demanding bribes from) mid-sized bussnesses, perticulary those that export.  

2.  Europe.  All I can say is that Berosconi exported Italian-style  frendly-facism to the rest of the contentent (except Switzerland  [they were kept out via ongoing threats of messing with their foreign-exchange accounts to the point where there will be bread riots].  The Germans (especialy the left) are not happy that a bunch of Katzelmacheren (is that the pluralized form) are running the show.  Most of the decent is expressed via the banned May 1 society and National Democrats.  In Austria the Vienna baised Socialists were outmanuvered by the Cristian Democrats (primarly based from Rural Upper Austra).  The CDP promptly fixed the Austrian constution to keep themselves in power.  The French, are well the French.  The 5th republic is showing its cracks and corporations are moving in to take over.  

3.  The US:  Corporatins pull strings with (illegal) bribes behind the scenes.  Crony capitalism is rampant.  Very selective law enforcement.  Some radical stirings.  A resurgent Labor Union Militarism may change things.

4.  Japan:  Corpo-Facism.  The Zimbatzus are back and dictating policy.  

5.  Mid-East.  The House of Saud fell in a violent revolution bringing a bunch of Whabists who make the Taliban look liberal came to power.  Israel nuked Ryhad and Mecca after the new Saudi emmerate started mobilizing against Israel.  Sadam Hussain ordered the launch of crude chemical weapons against targets in Israel.  War ends in a truce, they still hate eachother.  Iranians (the moderate presidnet used the events as an excuse to kick the hard liners out of power) are now a major regional power.  

Basicaly corporations rule the world via bribable politicians and goverment workers.  Theire is a tide of radical decent against the status quo.  Cyberpunk characters aught to be in the middle of it.

Damien will keep a general watch, perticulary on windows or doors to buildings unless someone with more tatical experence needs him for a specific task.

JUst a thought about Metal Gear, but why protect the Luser's hands to SP 25?  I mean you can grow a new one.  Same with a leg.  However since one cannot regrow a brain it makes sence to make the armor graded by the need of the area of protection.

One could probably reduce the weight of the armor from 15 killos+5Killos of padding to a far more managable 12killos+5killos of padding.  

Miltech Endurance™ Metalgear, Extended endurance, excelent protection.  

It probably costs a little less also and has a slightly reduced EV.  So for punks who need some heavy protection withouth the heavy EV penality should get metalgear endurance.

I think I have heard of just about every perversion.  Most I don't understand.  I haven't done much because having high standards tends to thin out the daiting pool.

Sounds good.  Posioness snakes may not bee to effective if the criminal is lucky.  The snake might not become suficently agitated and attack.  Or is noticed and killed or incapacated.  Snakes only attack people when they feel threatened.  That of cource can be fixed via cyberwear.

I would expect that a character that doesn't have his face pased all over most wanted posters can cary light concealable armor and a handgun w/o problem provided he has a good forged Firearms ID card, is dressed decently, and dosn't smell.  The poliece won't think twice and with be nice.  Just be nice to them.  They have bigger problems that a citizen with a ugly Concealed Cary licence.  

Seriously, I think  that anyone with the right attitude, a little preperation and a little fast talking could walk up to the gaurd at the Whitehouse and meet the president by the close of bussness.  Just watch "catch me if you can."  1000 dollar suits are door openers.  One must always look like the belong.  

So, Kids, in the zone ripped tshirts, jeans and a not-too well concealed handcannon will make you look like you fit.  Leave the Kilobuck suit at home.  Have a 2 day stuble on you face and watch out for gang colors.  The locals will think you belong.

That is what matters, don't get notied, can't get caught.

Subdudity in cyberpunk.  Good idea!  In corp-zones and other secure areas, don't bring a gun, maybee a innocent looking knife, or alternatively learn to use your hands to protect yourself.  

If you must use a gun, get a scilencer.  Get a subsonic round that throws a lead brick.  Fit a scilencer to it.  If its quiete enough the corpsec goons won't notice it unitll it takes down that VIP.  

In some areas, gunfire won't attract much attention (combat zone).  There you can use assault rifles with relitivel impunity (because the poliece generaly don't go there).  While in others it will bring out the entire force (corp zones).  

But there are ways to mess someone up with out everyone knowing you have  a vendeta.  For instance, spilling/spraying gasoline on a corporate's armored limo's glass will be anoying and expensive.  As is calling in a security notice useing his discription.  Or blackmailing him with the pictures of him with his mistress (or call girl of choice).  Alternatively one can spread rumors or do all sorts of other nasty things to someone.  Even tip the IRS off to him!  Alternaively steal his identity and max out a few (dozen) lines of credit.  Any of these will ruin his day (or year).  Also if his daugher (or son) is the sort the character likes to date, he (or she) can cause plenty of parental stress (immagine the effect on the parents of a white-bread upper middle class kid going out with some drug pusher from the projects).

Damien casusiously moves in a low crouch towards the spot that Fawcett indicated.  He is constantly looking for signs of hostile activity, cover (both hard and soft) and the best route to Fawcett's position.

Here is an idea:  The offed someone's lover/sister/brother etc.  That someone is an extreemely pissed netrunner who decides to harrass them untill they pay him several billion euros (or somthing outragous).  He is semi-retired and lives on a superyhat in the medertarain and has a security detial that would make Miltech and Arasaka not want ot mess with him.  He decides to make their life mizerable.  

For instance:

Biotox doped .22 short rounds fred from a drone.  Custom designed to target the perticular munchkin.  

Or hire some solo team grabs one and does torture experementation to him.  Or alternatively an experemental emp chip that deliveres severe pain when the person engages in sociopathic behavior.  

Alternatively, find a new group.  You are living in NYC which must have other CP role players.

My take on violence is basiclay karmic.  That is if characters do some mild bad stuff like offing a gang or two because they are pissed off or somthing its not too bad, but habitual sadism will earn them some enemies that they shoudl have left dead.  

Alternatively, when Designated enemy does somthing realy evil (like videotape the gangrape/murder of the PC's SO) then the characers aught to not accumulate any bad Karma for doing bad things to him like selling him as a sex slave to an S&M group or letting him get eatten alive by rats.
