  1. What setting are you going for:

    High Tech Corporate Agri-business?

Survivialists, Pseudo-Amish, Hippy Communes and Back to Nature types?

    Or,

Like now, but with a few generations down the line?

    And where?

    Europe?

    US?

    Australia?

Europe does not have any rural area that is more than a few hundred miles from a city; if that.

You can get anywhere on one tank of fuel (possibly even if you are driving an American car)

The most isolated place in the UK is Kielder, and even that is within an hour from Hexham (small place) and just over an hour or so from Newcastle (Major City)

There are some remote places in Scotland, but no where on the Mainland is more than a few hours from Inverness or Glasgow (both large citites)

UK is more densely populated than Europe, but Europe itself is pretty civilised and full

US and Aus have plenty of really remote places

  2. I've never played Cyberpunk 2020, but have played other PnPs with varying degrees of seriousness and am trying to get a feel for the game to run my own campaign for friends locally. I've played by post on Rpol and when I was a wee bairn on msn marie sue type vampire and matrix free-form games.

Would like to play a fixer ideally. The idea of dealing, knowing people, middle-manning , playing people of against each other seems like a real fun challenge. I figure I'll either die real quick like some piece of street-trash or I'll learn to role-play better. And god-damn it I want to have a ladys gun loaded with some nasty bullets for the surprise factor.

    Well hello

Wilphe is an hour away down towards Leeds; please drop me a message or join us in chat

  3. If possible let them know you are coming

Speak to a Ref beforehand and generate a character before session, get them to approve it if possible

Refs are always busy pre-session, so one less thing for them to do then is often appreciated.

If you know anybody who will be there, see if you can tag along with them IC as a friend or associate or join their faction/group. In fact, you might want to do this with people you don't know as well.

If there are photos up of previous sessions, see what they are like and how your ideas would fit in (or not)

Have a backup character concept, you may need it

Subject of course, to the usual constraints of actually still existing, having a club and not having been locked up for assault or firearms offences.

He's being sarcastic about that last bit...

So what's happened in the world?

    IC:

My characters in the middle of being promoted.

We've had a corporate war by proxy.

The place has become infested with elf posers and ninja albino penguins (not hive-minded - that anyone knows[/])

  5. QUOTE (senior officer Mikael van Atta @ Nov 23 2004, 05:16 PM)
Smalec - fried (usually served cold, or used as a spice) lard, sometimes served complimentary before a meal with hunks of homemade bread. Sunds evil, but works miracles on hunger and cold. Pairs well with a mug of local beer.

Ah, the Polish equivalent of White Bread and Dripping; which is strictly a northern UK thing so far as I can tell.

Not so sure about it's near cousin Fried Bread - which pretty much has to be white but lacks any of the social conotations that Bread and Dripping has. I could be wrong but I don't think Fried Bread has crossed the Atlantic to any great extent.

The Deep Fried Mars Bar is a scottish invention; and frankly I have no desire to try one.

  6. OOC: I don't understand what Chuck is saying, I thought we were only hitting one building that contained Zia and the women.

"There's three of us. I don't want to pull the "Let's split up and get picked off seperatly" game thank you very much. Let's go for Zia straight away, he is the number one target, I get the impression that the women are just a bonus. Our employer is, as he said, not the white hat type."

"Once he is out of the way we go back floor by floor, kill any of the sick fucks that hang out there, release anybody else and retreive the targets."

"That is if we have handle on his location in the building when we go in, if not we do it room by room, floor by floor and work our way down."

"Diversion wise, they'll be plenty of equipment in the roof ares, water tanks and the like, taking out the electricty would also be useful yes? I would suggest that we do not throw the element of stealth away, perhaps set charges in the roof space to go off after, say 5-10 minutes?"

  7. OOC:

    Sorry I've been tied up.

    IC:

"How do you gentlemen wish to undertake this? I think we had better work out some protocols for movement, communication, room clearence, arcs of fire and the like."

"Also, what do we wish to do about any inmates of the target building we may encounter who are not mission objectives?"

    OOC:

Which I don't know if people want to RP out or not. My preference would be to <blah> it and cut to the chase.

  8. I'll make the simplified assumption that Porter and Oz will be splitting that take evenly...

    Dope 725

    Flash Club Gear 10 = 735

    Half is 367.5

    2) Oz will look over the rifle, if it looks not to be total crap he'll pick it up. 65

    4) Oz will pick up two of the sweatshirts, one blue, one black 60

    5) He'll pick up a halfcase of 6, opting for some rather passable Beaujolais 120

7b) The Tickelbox. In case we have to bribe some child, or annoy its parents 20

    265 for him

"These might come in handy, yeah baby"

7e) Or for use as a handy diversion 150

    7h) Two of these 60

210 - which he hopes will come out of operating funds

  9. Oz I believe has everything he wants right now, a few home comforts wouldn't go amiss (like some decent wine) and if there is any decent armour at the market he'll pick some up provided it isn't too expensive.

Also he'll drop by an ATM and draw out his pay.

They will need to inventory whatever the hell Porter and Chantry looted because Oz had other things to worry about.

  10. Oz eyes the evil looking liquid suspiciously, "Whatever da fuck that shit tastes like it can't be worse than da alternative. We got some coffee here?" he reads over the instructions on the can and unless he finds something like "Do not ingest anything within 2 hours of taking this" he'll get some string, sweet coffee and drink that immediatly after downing the medicine.

    OOC: Arrived fine thanks

  11. OOC: As Porter really isn't making any effort to hide what he is doing from Oz...

"Yeah, se'yah girl. Maybe we look each other up when this shit blows over eh? Thanks"

As the door closes he turns back to Porter, regards him shuffling through the waste basket and waits a good few moments for the goons to leave before walking over to Porter, "I want as much of this shit washed off me as possible. I'll go take a shower and change clothes, then we go look for a laundro-mat 'coz I'm fond of my threads you know?"

"What does the the sawbones have to say for herself?"

OOC: I've had computer trouble, could I have a copy of Oz's sheet and background please Mosca?

  12. <OOC: Sorry I have had computer issues>

    IC:

Fawcett will go to his tool kit, though this seems to have been designed more for B&E work than life support maitainence. A lot depends on what the pipe is made of, if it is metal it looks like he'll have to try and bend it back into shape through the more or less precise application of main force. If it is plastic, well then he'll need to lose slightly less force and more finesse to pop it back.

"Get your medkit out and get a compress bandage, some gauze and surgical tape* ready. This pipe may breach when I try and fix it, if it does wrap that all around it good and tight. It might not work totally, but it'll be better than nothing."

    * Which I notice isn't in the list. Is there some? Or is there some other method for holding dressings together included?
