  1. Richard Pilots OTV to about half way between Santa Maria and first OTV, and breaks. He turns the OTV towards Santa Maria, on the same course as the first OTV is heading, and accelerate to about half of it´s speed. He then goes on to pilot the grapping hooks as far from the hull ass possible (stretching out as arms), and pilots his OTV so that "hands" can barely touch the hands of first OTV. He then accelerates, trying to get OTV:s to move at same speed, so they can grap each others.

  2. Richard get´s space suit on, and jumps in OTV cockpit.

He uses intercom to, on open frequency. "This is Richard. I´m coming to aid you, don´t panic." Then he uses the intercom to speak in the ship; "Ok, clear the launch bay, I´m going out."

After this, he proceeds with launch sequence.

  3. "So what were you thinking of doing with OTV", Richard asks Ben.

"We don´t have more shuttles, and I doubt turning Santa Maria around would be reasonable. We MIGHT be be able to Rotate around assuming they are going to hit the ship, so that they might hit docking bay, but that is hazardous at best."

  4. I think I read somewhere that supercavity torpedoes, since they can´t turn att all, would be designed as anti fleet torpedoes.

That is, equipped with nuclear warhead, and fired at the general direction of the fleet.

On a different option, would it be possible to make the supercavity torpedo capable to carry submunitions, mainly small torpedoes, that are launched when it stops (or slows down), sort of like a underwater cluster bomb.

Well , the SAS had Pink land rovers ... maybe being tougher than the entire US special forces combined makes you secure in your sexuality ???

Oooh, mommy, mommy, look, a troll, mommy look!!!

Can I feed the troll mommy? can I can I can I??!?!?!

    PLEEEEEEEEEEAAAASSEEE MOMMY!!!!!

tongue.gif Don´t take me too seriously.

  6. "It´s not the problem with Artificial Gravity, it´s just that the launch bay was not designed to have it." says Richard behind Ben.

"Or actually it could have it, but it would make problems. Gravity is generated by sentrifugal force. That means part of the ship has to rotate. And if we would have the launch bay rotate, it would be impossible to land."

"We should get the ice under wraps. it will melt soon and we need the water."

Is there anything we could use as a container for the melting water? Plastic bags, "bathtubs", etc.?

I guess being a member of a group is a way to create a feeling of safety, but I disagree about the reasons of acting "like the herd". (from personal knowledge)

The actions and behavior we do and use, are not necessarily our own, concious self.

Just being submerged in certain enviroment for a long enough time will change most people, to manners and behavior commmon in the enviroment.

I think it´s easy to imagine only weak minds and unsecure people adapt the ways of a group, but that is only half thruth. I think in fact only truly strong and selfaware minds can take it without changing (as they usually are the leading rolemodel, unless there are old habits/traditions that  order otherwise. The adaptation happens in small amounts, bit by bit, unless one sets clear lines, one is not ready to cross. This usually leads to situations, where peer pressure happens, as the one person not wishing to break his bounderies is faced by the rest of the group, who can´t quite see what the problem is as they don´t "see" the line the other person has established to himself. Also, this can lead to opposite direction, where as the one persons "line" is so far, that everyone holds him creckless, and thinks he ignores all the rules (when in reality he just has´n´t met his "line" yet.)

I´m not sure you understand this, so let´s allow some examples:

We take a 4 person group, 2 male, 2 female, either all friends, one couple and two friends or two couples.

Now you can all imagine your own group from people you know. Think for yourself, would you be a opposing, encouraging or neutral (go-along) in, say:

    a) swearing

    B) walking/driving on red light

    c) prank calls

    d) prank calls to authority (police, hospital)

    e) shoplifting

    f) minor vandalism on public property (graffiti?)

    g) minor vandalism on private property (scratch someones car with a key?)

    h) vandalism on public property (break a payphone)

    i) vandalism on private property (break a glass in car/shop)

    j) theft

    k) fight (as in annoying someone untill they get physical, continue untill broken up or another goes down)

    k) mugging (physical abuse aimed to get money)

    l) rape (physical abuse aimed to get some) (might require "men only" party, preferrably with no couples)

    m) manslaughter/murder

There are plenty of things left in between, but mainly how far are you willing to go? What if everyone else would go further, and you felt like you are dead weight? What if you were the one over the line, and no-one dared follow?

And, being finnish in nature, how would your answers change if you were all drunk?

    2 cents, any change?

  8. Just to add something to the conversation, I vote for lazyness.

Humans, in their evolution have always had to deal with the lack of food (untill the last few centuries, and even still in some countries)

Therefore, human body will save energy any way possible. This can actually be seen in getting fat(collecting stored energy), and weakening of muscle tissue, if it is not needed (if you don´t do anything, your muscles will get weaker and smaller, as big muscles require more energy to maintain, so to speak.)

Therefore, even if you would give characters some bonus from limb replacements, their body would quikly realise that it´s wasting energy, and reduce performance.

I quess you that is similar to astronaughts in space. They train a lot, because otherwise their body would adapt to low gravity enviroment, and cause them more problems when they arrive back on earth.

    My 2 cents.

  9. Seen in a T-shirt.

It´s not the words, it´s the idea that I fail to understand.

    Anyway, the frase was

    "The future may be bright.

The coexcistence of part would present here

    archieves sublime new experience here."

And a big X behind it.

I´m puzzled, any explanation (besides wierd grammar)?

Oh, and if you can translate it to finnish, I´m forever grateful.

  10. Considering the developement, I´d see disposable SIM cards being a better option:

Similar to prepaid talktime, you just select a SIM card with 20$ of talk time, put it in the phone, and make the call. Standard cost per minute, and when the time is up, you can´t call anymore. You just ditch the card and get a new one. (or somehow recharge the old one, so your number won´t change).

This gives you a option to get a better phone, and offers you more changes on your cellular communication. Main target group for this sort of disposable SIM:s would be (in addition to illegally working fixers) teenagers. They could easily and cheaply get a phone, keep the costs limited  to what they could pay (hey, you ca´n´t have a 200 dollar bill if the phone hangs up when 20 dollars is used).

Also the "freedom" and "not needing to make contracts with service providers" would fit the teens. Just imagine how few teens would have cells if they would have to go to the store, and fill all the paperwork by themselves, especially as most of 2020 teens are illiterate.

And for physical tracing, 2nd generation cellphones are traceable to base station accuracy (ie. witch basestation you are connected ATM). On the other hand, in city areas basestations are usually microstations, meaning they can be for example one city block or smaller. (making tracing easy)

In 3rd generation, you are connected to multiple stations at the same time, witch basicly means you are triangulated all the time...

Welcome to the wonderful world of cellphones..

  11. Me support piracy?

I NEVER DID ANYTHING LIKE THAT

    *Turns off overnet*

    Now then.

Who ever said piracy is for lazy people, they are right.

Then again, I try not to worry about my actions considering downloading music/software. You can´t say anything that would make it just/unjust, so why bother.

But to offer to the conversation, few pointers:

    1) Since I DL mainly games, I would like to point out that games are starting to turn to online games, where most fun is found playing online. That usually requires a legimate version. If they can make games good enough to be played online, they get their money.

    2) If Microsoft REALLY wanted to get money from their products, and avoid losing money due to piracy, they´d sell ADSL packages or something similar. They´d get their money from the connection, the customer would just get the sotfware as an add on (they´d still DL it)

Those who suffer most are music artists, mainly one hit stars, who don´t have lots of fans.

    BOO-HOOO!!!  :p

This is my fave demos trick. Its designed for when you really need to booby trap a corridor but have no mines or anything.

Trick is, 1. nail a tin can to one side of a doorway, put a nail in the other side, pull the pin out of a grenade and slide it in so the det leaver is kept pressed, tie the end of the tripwire to the grenade and tie it taught on the nail.

    2. Your un-expecting victim walks through the doorway, trips the wire, the grenade comes out and the detenation handle flies off, couple of seconds later, BOOM!

Most effective in confined spaces as it does give the victim time to kick the grenade away, but can be used by the Punker with no contacts in mine buying.

    Black Night

We had a urban combat training, and I tried something similar... I tied the "grenade" on the door, and rigged it to handle. Would have killed two or three guys, had they (or the ref) noticed it. :(  Oh well, I knew it would have worked...
