  1. Lets see.

    -------------------------------------------

    Will:

    Age: late teens

    Height: 170 cm (5"7´)

    Build: Skinny

    Eyes: Green

    Clothing: Jeans, T-shirt, military shoes.

Hair: Light brown, usually does anything to them to make them look natural.

    "Add-ons": Sunglasses

Ethnic backround: Caucasian (this means white, right? Just checking. :) )

    -------------------------------------------

Will is a skinny guy, with a smart look in his eyes.  He doesn´t seem to be anysort of solo-wannabe, quite the opposite. Avoiding combat would propably be smart too, since that just isn´t his "thing". Unfortunately his big mouth occationally makes this hard. Will speaks english well, and that is apparently his native/primary language.

On a personal level, he seems Ok sort of guy; easy to get along with, as long as you don´t take everything he says too seriously. He also seems to be handy with electronics, and has a knack for avoiding security systems. Will doesn´t seem to have much Cyberware, only thing one notices is a subdermal watch. Other then that, he seems to be able to meet Inquisitors and avoid being burned as a cyberwitch.

Will doesn´t really talk much about his past, or about himself. If he has had a few drinks, you might hear him telling how he "doesn´t want to become like his dad", and how he intends to "get away from the streets", and "not to make same stupid mistakes as everyone else does for the rest of their lives."

And if things are going slow, he usually listens music with a portable player.

    ----------------------------

Hmm. I wonder if I forgot something? Well, I´ll add it later if I did.

    NEXT!!! :):)  :)

  2. We used a % amount.

If your roll is just the required amount, you hit with one bullet.

For each point over the required, 5% (or 10% if you want to make if easier) of ROF additional rounds hit.

Say you are using the 5% rule.

You fire 30 rounds, required difficulty would be 20.

    Your roll     rounds hit

    20             1

    21             3 (1+30*0.05*1=2.5=3)

    22             4 (1+30*0.05*2=4)

    23             6 (1+30*0.05*3=5.5=6)

    24             7 (1+30*0.05*4=7)

and so on. This adds ROF to the equation. Fire with minigat, and you get 120*0.05 = 6 bullets to hit /additional point.

Also, it is easy to see, that if a character rolls with 20 points (10 if using 10%) more then required, they hit with every single bullet from the burst.

My two cents, anyone got a change?

  3. If the drone would release it´s anchor (that is still on top of the door), and started to run randomly around targets body, wouldn´t that create the sliding effect, that would cut the victim? This would cause lethal wounds, if the drone would run up the victims back, and take few rounds around his/her neck, before running down again.

Or, maybe it could hide near victims chair, then run few ronds around his/her weist, while victim is doing their work, and sort of cut the victim in half when the wire runs out and starts to slide on the victim.

What do you think of the general Idea? Smal drone and monowire?

  4. Actually, that idea of anchoring it over the door might be a lot better:

It could anchor over the door, then move about 2 meters away from the door, and stay on the roof.

If the unit would have a reqognition system, it could "jump", acting as a weight at the end of the monowire(spider version of Tarzan with a monowire vine), as the target walks through door...The monowire would swing down, cut (although not necessarily deep) the target from head to groin with  some luck. Then the spider could start running around on the target, and increase the damage...

    Hmm...

    That might work...

  5. Would it be likely, that in CP someone could manufacture a small (say 3x3x1 cm) drone, that was capable of carrying about 10 meters of monowire inside it?

Think about it, if you could get the drone to a office of a corp you want to kill. Then, during night when there is no-one there, it would make a "Spider web" on the door from the monowire. (maybe 6 or 8 corner points on bothsides of the door, and monowires between them like spiderweb.) Then, it would set to the lowestcorner to wait. Next morning target walkes in, and...

Of course this wouldn´t be the most accurate way, since anyone coming from the door would get a nasty surprise.

MY two cents, anyone got a change?

  6. You could always make his character paranoid, as a result of psychosis...

Make everyone roll awareness rolls, and only she noticed something: They are being followed, Someone is about to do a drive-by-shoot, a cop is reporting them to the HQ or something similar.

Only thing is, that none of this is real. Make these things more common, and soon the character either get´s ditched as paranoid and hallusinating, or they keep it, ignore her threats, and get killed in a driveby, while being tailed and being reported to C-Swat...

Also, you can, specially when she is alone, describe NPCs more hostile then they are. She might take meaningless things as hidden insults.

My two cents, anyone got a change.

  7. Depends prety much the character I´m playing.

The Heavy Dart Pistol in Chrome book (I think it´s Chrome book 1, I have the finnish version, and it´s a bit different I think) is one of my favorites.

It shoots darts, D6+1 damage, soft armor 1/4 SP.

Not deadly, unless you get some sort of drug/poison on the darts. But I´d say it´s perfectly legal(unless you have neurotoxins on the darts, but who´s going to check them eh?)

I also found the FID gun creation system (awsome way to get just the gun you want), and made one semiauto pistol, whitch had 3D6 damage, and was completely silenced (it used subsonic rounds) That was nice too...

  8. Quote (DragoonCav @ Dec. 29 2001,07:16)
57.2mm is about 6cm of steel.  Modern 20mm cannons can easily punch through that.  3.2mm of steel was the amount of steel an '80s-era 5.56mm rifle bullet could punch through.  A 9mm wouldn't have a chance.

The damages are wacked.  If the 140mm cannon rolled a bunch of ones, a solo with good skinweave would take moderate damage from getting shot in the chest with a FRIGGIN' TANK GUN.

Yes, the ranges need some work too.

But what are the changes of that?

    All ones?

    1 out of 10^26, or

    1 out of 100 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000

You have better change winning in the lottery for crying out loud. And if that would happen to your character, I´d say you can change his/her luck to 11, (s)he deserves it.

  9. I´d like your opinions on this:

A armor system I designed with a friend (we haven´t tested this yet though) changed the armor values from 0 to 6.

    0 = light clothers

1 = leather jacket, or jeans (SP 4-8 I recall)

    2 = light kevlar armor (SP 12-14 I guess)

    3 = heavy kevlar (SP 16-20)

4-6 = rigid armors (mainly in police use in our world, not for players really)

The idea was to reduce the amount of armor from each dice you rolled, and from the constant.

So let´s assume you got armor of 2, and got shot by a single 10mm round (2D6+3).

    Damage rolled is 1 and 4 (2D6)

    so total damage is

    0 (1-2=-1 , 0 minimum)

    +

    2 (4-2)

    +

    1 (3-2)

    =

3 points. With a 10mm round. With a lousy roll. Against armor equal to about 10-12 SP.

And the armor 6 doesn´t make them invincible. We changed rifles so that the damages are rolled on D10 (5.56 does 5D10)

And if you got a weapon that does D10 damage (some heavy sniper rifle I suppose), it was changed to D20.

Again this has the effect we wanted: Some one shoots you with Uzi, you are in BIG trouble, even if you got armor 3 (SP about 20) Also, APEX came a BIT deadlier, since the damage is 2D6+4

My two cents, anyone got a change?

  10. My prime rule to GM:ing is don´t work everything out too exactly in advance. What ever you do, players never do things like you want them to. So, you can give them main "mission", and just see what they do. Then deside everything along the way you go.

Also, try to build a small amount of misthrust between your players. Special notes, meant for only one person, are good in this. Give every player a note (deal them like "this is for you, this is for you"), and say "don´t show this to others".

Every note should read "after reading this, be quiet and give this note back to me. Don´t tell anyone what this note said."

For the rest of the game, they are trying to figure out who of them is traitor, and leave the NPC traitor alone. :)

Hidden messages like that are good otherwise too, I once got two players shoot eachothers, since one wanted to use others cellphone. Big guns and big egos just don´t mix. :D

  11. I was thinking this for aimed shots some time back, and I´d like your opinion:

Instead of aiming to specific body part, characters can change the location roll.

They get a negative modifier of 3+(CHANGE) to their skill roll.

Then, they can either substract (for killing) or add (for shooting arms or legs) the CHANGE value to the D10 that tells you whitch location you hit. Desicion is made before throw...

    Example:

Solo X shooting his enemy, wishes to kill him. He asks for a called shot, and says he wants CHANGE of 3, subracted from the roll. He gets -6 to his skill roll. If he hits, he rolls D10, and reduces 3 from the roll .

So the hit location table would be something like this:

    original     modified   final location

    1             -2 (1)      head

    2             -1 (1)      head

    3             0 (1)       head

    4             1            head

    5             2            torso

    6             3            torso

    7             4            torso

    8             5            right hand

    9             6            left hand

    10            7           left leg

    (using the basic hit locations)

    What do you think?
