Quote (Dog Soldier @ Oct. 16 2002,21:42) Accidental shootings aren't very common and the rate has been dropping for years due to better education in gun safety, largely thanks to the NRA.
Mark. did you ever attend Front Sight? In 1997 there were 1500 accidental deaths via firearms, compared to 15,000 deaths via falling and 2000 infant deaths via drowning

Quote (wilphe @ Oct. 16 2002,17:26) Unless they turn out to have been innocent... Im for the death penalty in cases that are cut and dry, no appeals, no second chances.
there are plenty of those cases hanging around that the murderer has been in a box for the last 20-30 years at 40k + a year, where their name is drudged up every so often on appeal which tears at the people they commited the crima against...
Manson comes to mind....

Quote (VermillionStar @ Oct. 16 2002,08:42) Either everyone should have one and have some sort of mandatory training with it like a few countries in Europe or nobody should have one (except law enforcement). they used to have some guns here... but they took them away...
-
Quote (VermillionStar @ Oct. 15 2002,13:57) That's just the thing though, isn't it... Most "eye for an eye" punishments do not address the emotional side to crimes that victims and their families feel and while they may solve a problem quickly it most likely doesn't get solved correctly. In one state the governor is looking to commute the sentences of some death row inmates to "life" in prison.
Believe what you will but if the perpetrator of the crime is killed there will be no chances for escape no chance for media interviews and really no reason to bring their name up again.

after tweeking the menus around a bit, I have added a new catagory to the site called Cyberpunk in Cinema where I will pull some or all the items out of a cyberpunk styled movie for use or inspiration.
I have added Prayer of the rollerboys to the list of movies that I have already done (WestWorld, Outland & Metropolis)
in the near future Im looking to do Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man and Johnny 2.0
next on the list is a reorg of Rust never Sleeps as half of its items are now in other areas of the site

Quote (Thunderbird @ Sep. 20 2002,05:12) Quote
When a solo walks in a room ,with his gun in hand and catches the enemies by surprise ,I don´t have problem ,when he aims , shoots , shifts aim , and shoots again ( at -3).I can rack up 2 shots in 3 seconds easy, and that is with a pump action shotgun shooting at flying birds, and that includes, raising gun to shoulder, aim, fire, pump, aim, fire. 7 out of 10 times Ill be looking for two birds on the ground and these birds are quail

Quote See that's the EXACT sort of thing that needs to go into this project. I "lost" my 2013 box set a long time ago, and no longer have access to that sort of info, it's not in the 2020 rulebook. Reflex 2-4 5-7 8-10 phase1 No No Yes phase2 No Yes Yes phase3 Yes Yes Yes
-
I go by the original book (2013) for multiple actions, max of 3 depending on what your REF is. its a grid, like champions, but a LOT smaller, IIRC
-
Im curious, whats wrong with the multi classing/new career thats allowed in the books already?
-
Quote Revision of the character generation system:
make classes more open with fewer forced categories and make them optional. I think we need to keep a class system of some kind to help out new players and GM'sthere is nothing rigid about the roles, dont like one, change it! it says so in the book. all a role consists of is 10 related skills that you distribute 40 point on. in interface alone there were like 10 different versions of solo.

Quote (Thumper @ Sep. 04 2002,19:44) This concept is actuallt rather simple to setup with an IMAP layering of html on top of some kind of crude map of the US graphic.
First you need the list of the main page htmls, what city they link to and a jpeg or such map of the US that will easily fit on a webpage and have all the cities easily maked and named on them.
Sorry to say i am not volunteering, I think I have overdone it at the moment, but if someone was to email me with all the links and where they lead and a picture i would oit it together.I was actually looking for a list of all the cities, I can do all of the "putting together" on my own, I have done a few pages in my time
-
so how many CP cities are there out on the web right now?
Tulsa, Detroit, New York... what else? wouldnt it be cool if a web page was set up where you could just click on a map and... go?

Quote (Sergey @ Sep. 01 2002,08:44) Hi, everybody!
My name's Sergey. I'm from Russia. And I have a question.
Have anybody heard the album "CyberPunk Fiction" of various artists - a parody on the Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" movie?
I can find only an article about it:
http://www.inmusicwetrust.com/articles/13e04.html
But I'm eager to listen to it. Please help me to find mp3-files of this album if somebody knows where it is.http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin....=843944
available here...

the old site was starting to show its age (Tulsa 2020 was the first web site I ever did) it has now had a complete overhaul, and Ill be adding to it for the next several weeks.
some of the information did not change, so was condenced, while other parts were expanded.
http://www.paper-dragon.com/Tulsa2020/index.php
let me know what you think!

2 which will be of interest, one that mght be and the other only if you live in or plan on visiting Tulsa
Tulsa 2020 is getting a facelife/rewrite, when done it should look more like a bonified city guide
the second one will be a suprise
the third... CowPunk! Interlock Rules in a wild west setting
the forth is a genuine Tulsa, OK portal, there will be little if anything RPG related there

Quote (Agamemnon @ Aug. 07 2002,11:08) Go for it. Who knows, it might be more interesting than discussions about the flaws of the CP2020 rules. what flaws in the CP2020 rules?

started with the D&D basic set back in 1980, didnt touch gamin again till 1984 where I picked up champions. then In college I picked up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Palladium Fantasy, we played those almost exclusivly till a gaming convention in 1989 where I was introduced to CP 2020. Since that time i have picked up may games, and just recently we had been reintroduced to D&D (3rd edition). We always seem to stick with the same systems now, CP, Champions (Hero System), WFRP and White Wolf.

Quote (darkmonki @ July 08 2002,16:20) The way no one thought that present day companies might actually merge with other companies or at least change their logos sometime in the next 50 years... Its called product placement, those "logos" are small ads paid for by the companies, so of course they werent going to change them

the top one looks like Tulsa, OK on the Arkansas river about 21st street... nice 7 mile long park on one side of the river, industrial plant on the other (PSO)

that makes two of us....

Quote ...more randomness over location. If a piece of body armour can stop a 9mm round it will stop every 9mm round unless it gets damaged. You can calculate the energy from a bullet impact and it doesn't vary much between shots. A few more locations and some critical hits would be lovely... http://www.paper-dragon.com/rust_ne....ed.html
hope this helps.

Someone refresh my memory as to why it is a bad thing to execute criminals....
"Murder victim's family outraged by VHI show that features prison bands
PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ A VHI program that features prison musical groups has drawn complaints from both state officials and a mother who was stunned to see her daughter's killer jamming with his bandmates on TV.
The first episode of ``Music Behind Bars,'' to air Oct. 18, focuses on Dark Mischief, a heavy metal band formed by inmates at the State Correctional Institution at Graterford near Philadelphia.
One of the band's members, Christopher Bissey, is serving time for the murder of two teenage girls at Lehigh University in 1995."
I think this sums up my thoughts completely...
