  1. My turn! We were playing the Fourth Corporate War scenario and a couple of characters were caught up in a fight with Arasaka troops in cover behind an overturned APC. The players are taking cover behind a building corner and see little chance of making it accross the street to their car. One of them, however decides to give it a go. With guns blazing, he takes a good twenty feet running speed before throwing himself sideways out on the street. He slides on his side accross the street and stops perfectly behind the car. On his way over the street, he manages to take down one Ara. Then suddenly, his one pistol is shot out of his hand and slides out into the middle of the street. His other clip is quickly empty, and he draws his last weapon, a shotgun. He then uses the barrel to smash the rear windshield of the car, rests the shotgun upside down on the lower rim of the window above him, and fires a shot. To reload, he simply lifts the weapon up so the loading grip is on the upper rim, and pushes the weapon rapidly upwarda to reload, fires another shot, reloads, fires and repeats this action until the clip is empty. Throwing away his shotgun, he leaps out from behind the car, slides on his side accross the street, and on the way, picks up his last gun and places the last round dead-center in the fuel tank of the APC, blowing up the vehicle and the Arasaka soldiers in the process. That must be the most impressing course of action ever.

    mmm kitchen utensils in cyberpunk.....

wasn't there a big egg boiler thing in bladerunner, which one of the replicants pulled an egg out of..?

and in Aliens there was the classic deep fat fryer pretending to be a piece of lab equipment...

I really don`t think it was an egg. It was an eyeball if I`m not wrong.

  3. I think that most nomad kids are taught to become familiar with the guns they are going to use later on, but I do not think they are considered fit to carry guns before they reach an age of something like 15 years. I don`t think even nomads are that stupid.

Low life street trash in the cities could of course have a weapon (considering the number of firearms on the street in 2020), but they probably don`t know how to use them properly. They can, for instance, not clean or unjam their weapon, maybe not even reload it properly. They are actually more likely to hurt themselves than others.

  4. Kult Dementi. Jeg er fra Bærum. Vi er en gjeng på en ti stykker som spiller Cyberpunk, Vampire, Changeling, Wraith, AD&D, Rifts, Hunter, Werewolf ++

(for those who didn`t understand what I said: It is Norwegian) ((I am actually an American))

  5. Try Palladium games` Rifts. The system sucks a bit, but with a good GM, it could turn out to be a blast. On the other hand, it could also turn into the worst munchkin slugfest ever. Still, I have had players who have been so caught up in the game that they won`t stop and go home when we`re done.

Another good choice for a game would be the old AD&D with the Ravenloft campaign setting. Scary!!! (you still need a good GM and a bit of background work)

  6. I had a couple of players who were in a bit of financial trouble, and they decided that robbing a bank would be a good wy to fast cash. I myself don`t object to the players actions, but let them deal with the consequenses, and it seemed that they were ready to face the consequenses. So they decided to get a vehicle to rob the bank. They very rapidly stole an Arasaka AV-4 while it was on an operation. Now they had Arasaka after them. They then used the AV to ram through the front wall of the city`s Worldbank and took all the money with full force (including blazing miniguns). Now they had Worldbank on their necks too. Now a small note: One player earlier worked for militech, but decided to run away for this particular robbery. As you all know, Militech aren`t too fond of this. Militech is now on to them too. With a lot of hostages from the bank (just for insurance, about seven of them) they realised they would never manage to get away with this. Because of this, the decided to fortify a building in the Combat Zone, and did so after using most of the money they`d robbed to buy lots of military hardware. They landed on the roof of a 20 floor building and moved in, taking all its inhabitants hostage (about 35 more) and putting them in the basement together with some ten pounds++ of C6 explosives (tripwired to every person there: You move, it goes BOOM). They then went through the building and hid a good deal of guns (including a custom-made mortar) on each floor. Then, the cops arrived. That means that at this point, they had Militech, Arasaka, Worldbank and the whole NCPD (+ SWAT and some C-SWAT too) after them. Just to have some fun, I let WNS go after them too becauseone of their hostages was a paperboy working for them (They were screwed, so why not screw them some more). I am not going into detail of what happened next, but it includes a deadly high speed AV chase through the streets of Night City (at an altitude of about thirty feet) and a Militech AND an Arasaka strike team landing on the roof to take care of them. I must say that they survived for a good while longer than I expected. (you are not supposed to survive a low-altitude chase at something like 350mph through a crowded city of five million, especially not when you crash through a large brick building) It was a sick and wild story, but they had to pay the price in the end.

  7. The thing I am talking about had an SP of something like 25 or 30. It had strands of kevlar and some other stuff woven into it. If I don`t recall wrong, the price was at about 300 000eb for the torso vest. Pretty expensive, huh?

  8. That would be cool. I could talk to a couple of my players and some other friends and see if they would be interested. We`ve been playing a lot of World Of Darkness LARP`s in the past months, and it`s been quite successful.

  9. I have used a lot of metal, especially industrial, like NIN. I often use it as a background tune to set the mood. In clubs and bars, I often play Fear Factory pretty loud. It gives a good effect when communication between players and NPC`s consist of screaming above the music, trying to get your words through the howling noise of some really heavy music, and into the ears of the other character. By the way, an idea could be to use music from computer games. I have used a couple of tracks from Tomb Raider  (sounds of dripping water. Really gives that old basement feel) as well as a couple of tracks from Command & Conquer: The Covert Operations. Try it!

  10. I wonder if anobody here know the stats of Spider-silk armor. I remember seeing the stats in some book, but I can`t remember exactly which one. Maybe some of you punks can help me?

  11. Now that was the kind of character I like. Having played RPG`s for nearly eight years, I`ve seen my fair share of characters who are no more than a sheet with a page full of guns`n ammo attached. I wish all my players would care to write a good background. I myself almost always write 1/2 to 1 1/2 page of background for my NPC`s. Please say that I`m not mad.

  12. Pardon me for interrupting, but I have a small question. I`ve always thought that the Desert Eagle was Israeli Military Industries. Isn`t that correct? By the way, I would think the price would be higher if the weapon really was antique. I`d say more like 700 or 800 eb, not considering chamges in price on the Street.

  13. Hi there. I am Edgecrusher and I am from Norway. I have played RPG`s for about eight years, but only Cyberpunk (the best game ever, by the way) for a couple of years. Now, I am wondering if there are any Cyberpunk players who live in Norway around. If not, I`d be happy to chat about anything cyberpunk. Especially if anyone know about a good rule system for LARP.
