I've run two hard drives on mobo's of all ages without any problems. You could try borrowing a spare drive off someone or picking up a second hand one cheap and fitting it to see if it works before shelling out for a decent one.
-
I think we tend to forget how lucky we are on boards like this.
-
Have you thought about adding a second hard drive instead?
As for building computers, if you can handle Lego you can do that as well.

Dog Soldier, do something useful - bomb France!

The mook's redoubled efforts finally get Ivan's attention. Letting go of the bloody handful he heaves his body over, smashing him against the side of the van. Surging to his feet (as much as he can), he uses his body weight to pin him in place while his huge, muscular arms force his head back, exposing a vulnerable throat. A bestial cry of triumph drives his teeth down in an attempt to rip out his windpipe.

The one I read recommended boiling mercury in your kitchen! And there was a recipe for an explosive so toxic it was more dangerous not to explode it! Unless you're planning to give it to someone you really don't like, don't bother. Unless you like a good laugh.

Noir
in Network 54
I've just got the DVD for this as well. Interesting stuff about the shooting, I'll have to keep an eye out for that. BTW, in the American release did you get a little fold out card thing with a couple of short interviews and a couple of production notes on?

Quote (Karsten @ Nov. 30 2003,12:36) I want a totally silent PC. There is one, it uses a heat pipe to get rid of excess heat. Its so silent that you can hear your monitor working - that why they suggest TFT displays. Problem... you pay 700 Euro just for the case and the heatpiping of CPU and graphic card. Then you need a computer to put it into the case... I'm using a mini-ITX computer (mini-itx.com). It's not silent, but it runs without a fan on the processor so it is quiet.

Ignoring the tickling his ribs are getting, he shifts his weight and lashes back with a foot at the cowering scum, stamping him into the back doors repeatedly*. At the same time, almost without thinking about it, steel fingers twist flesh, trying to pull it free like a dripping red lump of putty.
*Being 6'10" has it's advantages.

The recent ressurection of the 'too much armour' topic has got me wondering - how many people ever run characters who don't wear any armour at all?

Congrats on the paid employment Arch! So where do we apply for your black ops team?

Or to borrow a term from Ivan, refer to them as 'ghosts', because they're kind of insubstantial.

Got any pics?

Quote (Bookwyrm @ Nov. 25 2003,09:46) I opted out of christmas last year and I'm doing the same this year as well. Having said that, I might get myself the Trojan Christmas Box Set to be festive.

Quote (wilphe @ Nov. 26 2003,18:12) Wilphe spent his last three years in school as a cadet, does that count? No, but it's disturbing that you refer to yourself in the third person.

Quote (markc @ Nov. 25 2003,17:59) Quote I'll enter service in January 2005, expecting to be booted after the first psychological screening for being utterly unfit for duty (which I am). Don't count on it, sport. If the military in your country is anything like the U.S. Army (God forbid you should be inducted into the Marine Corps), they'll just tell you to "suck it up" and make you drop for fifty (push-ups).
Lots of people have tried the old "I'm a psycho" dodge. Military shrinks can usually tell the difference. Besides, you don't need to be a happy-go-luck, totally-squared-away sort of guy to stop a bullet.
That'd be a good reason for you to get on meds Aga. It's much harder to argue against a psychiatric disorder when you're being treated for it.

Quote (malek77 @ Nov. 26 2003,02:36) Quote I opted out of christmas last year and I'm doing the same this year as well. Financial or Athiestic moral reasons?
Consistancy. I decided not to do christmas for the same reason I don't fast for ramadan - not my religion.
As for giving presents, I can do that any time of the year. Plus, it's far nicer to get a present when you're not expecting it, and far nicer to get something for someone in a random act of kindness when you're not obligated to do it.

No Armour

Personally, I've had only one unarmoured character (Billy, in Malek's Roadpunk game on this board) and I've found it a really interesting experience. I'm finding he's a lot more contemptuous of danger that all my armoured characters even though he's more vulnerable.
