  1. Sounds great just back from my Middle Ages tourney weekend.  Still trying to recover after sever weather and near hurricane strength winds destroyed most of my camping gear and everyone elses stuff sent the whole group to the only strong structure and standing room only.

even in the rain we fought the tourney and all had a good time dispite the rain.

    Thumper.

  2. If someone is behind cover and can be seen partially you can shoot at them make a normal to hit roll and normal location roll but if that part of the body is behind cover subtract the Sp of the cover before applying to the player.

If player is completely covered use indirect fire -5.  and see above for SP from cover.

BTW:  no aimed shots during indirect fire.

  3. In all actuality when would a Corp want a job done that players know to much about before hand.

Could be a good way for a Corp under secret cover as another company to make it easier to rid themselves of the players by sending them to a area where they think there equipment is not up to par.

Sending players supposidly to their deaths in an unknown land is a good plot hook and execution style that does not automatically kill the players off but just forces them to adjust and scroung resources from the locals when they find their equip is not very effective.

Hey what that fixer in the party for anyway.

  4. Hound the 9mm in Phipps system does a flat damage of 12 points all the die rolling is ignored altogether.  His side note say if you want to roll dice then go back to the standard Cyberpunk damage system.  The damage system he is presenting was meant to be a quick way to determine damages without any dice rolling and therefore speeding up game play.

  5. :D

Well as the great god (of action movies at least) Once said when a perp asked about reading miranda rights he said.

Miranda?  never heard of the bitch!

  6. Sad to think the players I have played with were just to damn carefull about what theydid and who they did it too.  They made few enemies who actually knew who they were and when in a combat situation acted like real people and spent a near fortune on Cybertech to allow them low observation and advantage in first shot/ hidden shot.  most combat encounters never lasted past the second round.

  7. I am going to start off this section since no one else has yet.

The climate and weather conditions effect the kinds of equipment players are able to utilize and how the equipment works.

Example One:  Ahot humid climate requires a different approach from the cool climate of Night City and Europe.

Metal Gear and other warm heavy armor is almost a no no.  Wait someone has invented an undergarment cooling system to be worn with your combat armor.  Well at 6000 EB it's a tad expensive and has to be maintained well the coolant needs repalcement once a week and batteries need changin once every eight hours due to excessive demands for moving the coolant thru the unit.

Caseless ammo spoils quickly in moist climates good chance your ammo misfires or does less damage due to moisture seepage.

OK.  now I want to hear from those living in other climates and how things effect equipment there.

maybe we could make a good rule additions for climates.

  8. Well if you need military edge vehicles I have them at my site.  Also, I am starting to disagree with the future of Cyberpunk history myself with all these new books I don't have.

I recommend getting the chrome books, Maybe blackhands weapons and making it up for yourself on the history and stuff.  There is lots of info online you can get with alternate versions of Cyberpunk.

  9. Eating utensils in Cyberpunk

Well the future is disposable and so are the utensils in most cases.  people eat with thier fingers with chop sticks, fast food comes in a wrapper and bite sized portions you can grab with your digits is all the rage.

For example chicken nuggets, and such.

Only the very rich can afford meals not made into shrink wrapped celophane plastic containers that pop into the microwave or are heated by self adhesive heating tabs meshed with the container.

Face it Kibble is a meaning comming from an archiac dog food and is eaten straight out of the meal sack like any kind of crunchy food sort of like chips.

Nomads in the countryside might cook but they probably use thier hunting knives to cut chunks off of the rabbit or possum they are cooking over an open spit.

    hope you like the rant

    :D

  10. I like it mostly but it does cause a slight concern due to the damage of 8 point to any limb causes it to be useless rule from the main rulebook.

With this system any shot fired from any gun just about causes a dibilitating wound to a limb.

I am suggesting a revision with your system to push useless limb up to maybe 12 -14 points of damage needed.

Other than that it looks great.

Could not find the section on the Cyberpunk.co.uk site with 3g3. Was it posted in the archives?

BTW:  i am interested in hosting a more complete listing on my website.

  11. Well it sure has for me.  At least in the way characters never seem to make it out of the hole no matter hard hard they try and save up money.

For example I just paid to install a new engine on the 17th almost $3000 US dollars and it just conked out on me again.

Work is oppressive and demands the impossible from me.

Government forces have so far delayed a needed Dental surgery from me and seek to deny my benefits a few day before the new surgery is scheduled therefore nullyfing my 8 month wait in line.

I have lived in the best parts of town in large homes with heated pools and spas and have occasionally dropped down to the league of the homeless on occasion.

Although, I am very smart and have nearly a degree in both accounting and Computer information systems no one will hire me without that damn piece of paper.

During the days I work meanial labor and days and nights off I repair computer systems for extra change.

Yeah, you wonder how I come up with cyberpunk ideas for my site well I am just about living the Edgerunner style life to a degree.

Not that fun but very exciting.:(

  12. I am not exactly sure what could defined as a munckin attitude?  I have never played a real hardcore game based on just killing people unless I had maybe five minutes to prepare because everyone just had to come over and play.  Then it disolved into just a short evening firefight with a specific gang that started hassling the players whey they were out on the town.   The players could only wear light armor and only concealable weapons though.  The worstit ever got was in the end to the longest running characters who eventually decide to ask me to creat an adventure where they could rid themselves of this gang that liked to ambush them and place claymore mines rigged up to thier doors.

Some players sold out to get some hvy weapons like a GEC minigun 7.62nato with backpack 6000 rnds ammo and linear frame.  Another bought a Arasaka light 20mm but he found finding one was a short adventure in and of itself.  Most of the heavy hitters who were slowly becoming munchkins decided when the 3 AV's started coming in that they would make a stand and try to take them out.  None of them thought to get Anti Air weapons so they sort of became smears of blood except for the smarter one's that ran immediatly on seeing the AV's.

  13. By the way it is sounding now it is the Taliban that are probably almost all part of Osama Bin Laden's organization because even the major religious leaders of Afghanistan have asked Bin Laden to leave the country.  They feel they can not force him to leave because of Islamic beliefs.

  14. :(

    A short History lesson.

The battle for the Alamo was fought while Texas was still it's own country that had broken off from mexico in the early 1800's.  About 16 Americans that had move to Texas at the time to start a new life decided the General Santa Anna of Mexico was going to have to stop and fight them for this small little Spanish mission in San Antonio.

Santa Anna not being the brightest of generals decide to crush these upstart Texas who had decided to defy him.  He did eventually crush the Texans at the Alamo but they held off an entire army of over 6000 men for days on end inside a small church made hastily into a fort.

The time Santa Anna spent crushing the Texans at San Antonio gave General Sam Houston of the Texas army a chance to gather a real fighting force of men able to fend off Santa Anna, which they did and destroyed Santa Annas army at the battle of San Jacinto.

Odd enough this sounds like what a group of players might try in a last ditch defense since several of the fighters at the Alamo where already famous frontiersmen such as Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett and Bowe of the knife made after his honor.  But sadly they all died in the end so therefore the phrase remember the Alamo became a Texan warcry.

I am a great military battle buff and have studied neary every famous land battle in history that has good documentation.

  15. You mean your players live past the first adventure?   Just kidding,  well I try out a basic style for the player and cut it into rent elect food and such.  Whatever thier lifestyle warrents, they I break it down to a daily cost of living minimum.  you may not wan to do all this but I am an accountant and number cruncher.

My personal character has taken the extra layup time not spent in the Hospital to go to the library and gain IP from reading books to gain new skills even if they only can go up to a skill level of two.
