Hopefully it isn't too bad - it's the main thing I was worried about apart from speed.

Actually the Cyberpunk General Chat Board (yeah this one) was always intended to be for everything cyberpunk. What I will do is start a new General Cyberpunk 2020 Board in the >> Cyberpunk 2020 section for the rpg.

I have to totally agree with Sith on this point.

Discussions on these boards have always been very varied and inteligent and not totally bound to the cyberpunk2020 game. The fact that the game is not 'perfect' is one of the reasons that many people come here and debate cyberpunk culture - to add things into thier own versions of Cyberpunk 2020 or other like games. Oneof themain reasons that Cyberpunk 2020 is considered by many to be the most enjoyable/playable game is the way it's structured. the whole concept differs vastly from that of the traditional games such as AD&D. There are no levels. I like to think that we gat a far more muture person who plays Cyberpunk - the posts on th ecyberpunk.co.uk boards over the past 18 months have bourne this out. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion though.

As such we may well add some extra boards to cater for the non game playing Cyberpunk enthusiast.

And don't forget the man who had the worlds first hand transplant - 2 years ago - had it amputated last week. Basically he couldn't afford the £10k costs for anti rejection drugs per year and so things had started to go wrong.

With a cyberlimb you will have the same problem except the rejection impulse of the body is liable to be less - take replacement hips etc. Plus when a good enough cyberlimb has been developed it can be manufactured more cheaply than real or cloned limbs are available.

Plus potentially you could have a prostetic capable of doing many more things than a normal limb...

Fix,  Not sure about the Opera situation. Will check with Ikonboard - I take it you have Opera set up to allow cookies?

I might wait till the new version of Ikonboard - due out any week now - to change the colours as it's a lot easier to do it in the new version. I will have to go through all the scripts to change some of the colours in this version of the Forum - note how the message titles in the message centre are in red... Problem is editing the scripts can cause the whole forum to go tits up like it did the first day I installed it. Now I don't want to do that again!

All you need do is ensure that no one posts anything that would be deemed illegal or deflamatory. Example: the only post I have ever remove from the old forum was one that gave ingredients for home made bombs! Not good!!!

Other than that just keep a weather eye on the board and keep the threads going - try and answer any questions the users post.

You will notice some extra links on the boards that you can use such as Prune but you won't need to use that unless we run out of space on the server!

You can move threads to other boards if you think they are in the wrong place - do let the other board Moderator/s know!

Consider yourself a cyberpunk.co.uk staff member  -add it into your board signature if you want to.

Right - I thought you meant the new main cyberpunk.co.uk site (how vein of me! ) - not the new Forum. I will continue moving threads over but in date order from now on - newest first so that threads can continue on and I will close each thread as I go along. Cutting and pasting several thousand posts should take a while! Hence I have concentrated on the boards with the least in!

In reality it can go live now if no one minds certain functions missing - such as the Archive... Still got a lot of work to do there yet.

Founded in 1996, Mirrorshades is now in its fifth year, with over thirty sessions under its belt. Originally based at the University of Sunderland, the system's evolution has seen many faces come and go, several plots unfold and develop, and a complete change of venue. Not a bad track record for any game.

The sessions are currently held in Chesterfield's YMCA Building, in Derbyshire, on the second Saturday of every month. On the first Sunday, Mirrorshades: Nightmare Asylum - the sister system - runs in Nottingham.

Node, The new site will start to take over in the next few weeks. Just have to tidy a few more things up yet.

Freaky, I think I have set the next dot level at 5 posts - as you may guess there are 5 levels + admin, and the names and post levels are customisable. I might have a thread later asking for suggestions on the names - weefle runner is a good one!

Ohh... Spent a sleepless night last night. I changed some of the settings in one of the cgi files and it all stopped working! The girlfriend was throwing things at me to hurry me up as we were late - nothing new there then, so I didnt have time to figure out what I had buggered up. As it turns out - nothing. For some bizzare reason my Mac system does something to cgi files as soon as they are downloaded. Fortunatley I found the original pc disk with the files on and its all working again. this does mean that I can't change the table layouts today. Pants.

I am ranting on because I wanted to see what a blonger post would look like. So there.

If you are reading this then you are a moderator - so welcome to the boards. There is a swear word filter in the system but I have not entered anything into it so far - if you want me to then post here. THere are several settings theat each separate board can have including allowing html - turned off except for this board! Icontags - a simpistic form of html which is turned on at present and emoticons which are also turned on at present.

We can also ban members if there is a problem - just let me know the names.

Getting there with the colours - but looks like I am going to have to redo all the graphics. Can wiat for now. I love the message service!

This is true. i will have a look at the settings this weekend and see if I can reduce things down a bit so its more like the current boards.

Getting the colours right is a nightmare. Everything WILL be black and green.
