  1. THANKS FOR THE ARASAKA PRAYER!!!!! I think i just about pee'd myself laughing.

    But really religion is the poor man's need for validation, sure there may be something out there but considering the weakness of our preceptions, I think we all should just get off it. Besides the Bible is justa bastardized version of the Tora, and the new testment(i didn't capital this work of fiction on purpose) wasn't even written for 20 years until after this 'messiah' was already dead- give it up, the ideas may be good but it's like all verbal traditions, flawed and glamourized.  Tao is pretty usefule in the day to day thing, to be is just that, and it makes things alot easier(thanks Phipps) and if ya got a religion bone to beat me in the head w/ Email it to me don't waste everyone's time reading your prophetizeing garbage on this forum, it's not helping the original topic which was Religion in CP 2020.

    Still gotta say that the Ianus Games books covered the subject full and if ya wanna know the ISBN's for them, to buy them on your merchant of choice, again, Email me on this board.

On Chroamtic Rock, I can unfortunately say , was involved in the 1882-88 Death metal scene and if ya play it faster than the drill w/ the picks can stroke it and the scale is a mindles chromatic run, I'd think that plus a growling vocalist is the ideal in Chromatic rock- for the love of good taste it seemed to go back underground!

     

    on style, I've found that characters defined by thier equiptment usually end up drinking alone in the clubs and don't seem to survie Cult of Sin riots very well (hey, look at that dude w/ the Plasmatic revolver! that pinhead's gotta have more one him! STRIP HIM!!!! .... various shots and wet gurgly noises...) .  Considering that I've had characters do gun alterations ala hacksaw and have personally sawed through a chacters throat w/ a plastic prepak knife. Style should be useful but very acedotal in the story telling style that is Cyberpunk.

  3. I've actually found htaat running a female character to be one of the most difficult but enjoyable things I've done in a campaign. First it was only NPC as a GM, then I tryied it out as a PC and found although it was initially hard to do it really help my 'good roleplaying' skills.  I think everyone first tries to play an idealized self but after about 20 years of role playing I found that the more challenging characters add alot to the games i play in.

    The Kiss

     

    It's a grav stabalized pece of monowire that is rigid W/ a low amperage electrical charge and limp w/o the charge. It has a small servo attached approx 24" from the end that will spin it when extended.(mounted in the top of the hand/forearm)

    Special is calulated by how long (1 foot or 2) the wire is and how fast you're spinning (Avg 3/5D6) the trick is the penetration...

Having not only "moved" some ametur pharms in my day and having gotten several friends and accquuatences off the various garbage that people use to "alter reality" I can say that ALL the folks that I helped off weed the addiction was 100% psycological, considering unless you are female, there is no biological producers for a THC like chemical in you body (trust me I work in medicine for a living and if there was life would be alot more mellow for many folks), not to say that there aren't receptors for the opiate high that grass gives it's users. The black and White of the matter is that Physiological addiction (read the ones that your body actually makes a biological need for, and stops producing it's own) it's a matter of choice, no one ever truly can give up coca or opiate products after the physiological need is set, they can merely deny the urge to use. Psycological abuse is totally up to the user if they TRULY set thier will.

    For cambat sense, doesn't matter how good nature inclines one to battle, Nurture will in the proper amounts always win out.

    Avail: P - I've only seen one twice

    WA -1 -it's top heavy

    5D6- 50cal cut down pistol round

    6 1- actually it should be 1/2 for those w/ less than a Bod of 8

    VR- built for abuse

    1500Eb- the one I saw was retailing for $1500 now w/ 12 rounds

     

    If ya wanna pigleg to shott, this one is sure to please in stainless steel, nickel or blued barrel

  8. Having seen a Jackhammer at a gunshow I can tell you it was 10 shots to a rotary clip. But if ya need more shots than that I suggest the Benelli clip shotgun line, you can find thier stats in RTG's Edge of the Sword Vol 1

    Cthullu has been a favorite for years, and it was the only big baddy to keep the team that I had running in my old F to F campaign good and freaked for 6 years.  I don't care how good the combat sense skill level is if a Hound of Tinalos is comming out of the corner of the flat you reside in , it gonna get the surprise and the rest will either work it's way out through blood shed or it getting the heck outta there to return later. You wanna talk about a professional team being freaked, just lay it on them.

     

    One word of warning to new cross over GMs, PLEASE for the love of Chrome, read som HP Lovecraft or Auguast Derelith before you spring another Splatterpunk game on some unsuspecting PC. Splaterpunk is just not something we all need anymore. :knife:

  10. For the drug addiction thing, Suirel, if it's not a true physiological addiction it usually becomes a psycological one(Marijuana for instance, to place a not Physio one), so the degrees of addiction are full and varied.

     

    and for the combat sense deal, I've know serval cops, soldiers-governmental and not, and what I have seen and experienced (living on the not so clean side myself for many years) that the ability to grab that knife comming your way w/o getting cut and to get the heck outta the way at the rught momment gets only to exceptional levels w/ massive amounts of experience (being there when it wasn't the right time) and training(someone there to help you out of htat bad palce at the wrong time) can this be achieved.

     

    But it sure is fun to pretend otherwise. Huh

  11. Ran a Cthullupunk campaign successfully for about 6 or so years. It started pretty standard Edgers doing jobs but as connections grew so did the feeling of something not all there came to pass w/ the introduction of android servants to the welthy/ hazardous positions ala Bubble Gum Crisis ending in Cthullu in the Net and Hasturian corrupted. bio boomers for lack of a more general term, being a undercover menace to the livelyhoods of the PC and thier friend and family cirles.

    Its amazing how fast a PC will take on some foreign unheard of tech to try to get an edge up on things... oh the corruption .... oh the Horror.

     

    We all had a blast until I moved! :D

  12. Drugs have always been a bugaboo and a blessing in my horror-punk campaigns.

    Bad in that addiction isn't a maybe it's an ineviblity, and stress and paranioa is a bit much to make a good sleeping role every play night.

    Just come to have gotten used to it.

     

    Besides, If Johnny has a Combat sense at 18 of 9 or 10, how in the hell did he get that way. Even the most natural killers had to practice thier art to be as sharp as a seasin gun man.

    Realism in role play adds to the spice in life, as well as somewhere to put that IP that matters, Get real Folks!

  13. Biotoxin rounds have been tried before(early Travler 2000 module circ. 1981) It wasn't too appealing then(tech just wasn't that cool yet) and it just seem mastabatory now at that price. If ya want someone dead that badd why not hijack a satellite and orbitillery that poor sod.

     

    Just thought I would add that the only clean kill is a personally confirmed kill. When head leaves shoulders, then you know they're dead.

  14. Big wuzzup to all the GMs:

     

    When do your PCs eat, sleep, defecate etc.

    I usually roll a random die for each character on long extended runs(got it out of an old Grim Tooth's traps set) to detemine when theses cool level headed edgers get hungry and need to answer nature's call.  It is a pain for PCs but it has added short term goals during a high tension long term job.

    When Nature's calling you gotta answer sometime.

  15. Unfortunately the PC in most campaugns become drug addicts.

    something about having to cope w/ stuff coming oout of hte wall and tryng to kill you sends them over the edge a bit.

     

    Other than that if ya wannna good drop out scematic for a rule o down time look into Wildside sourcebook, it'll give them all sorts of things they have to do to keep up thier contacts and stay outta trouble... or better yet in trouble, bad stuff happens to bad people, just make it part of thier evening meal. :knife:

  16. 2nd Run, after being darned near killed last run, and being short on cash, I waited until my fellow edgerunner was asleep and then pinned him to the ground and tried feverishly to cut his throat w/ a serrated plastic prepak knife... it too 8 rounds to saw through his thrat and do the job so my fixer could sell his body out of hock.

     

    Brutal, truly brutal

  17. 3 things have kept the campaigns I run full of ideas

     

    1. Greed, I personally think i had the most blood thirsty, ruthless bunch of malcontents to ever sayis that all there is, no there must be more to steal, hijack, reposess.

     

    2. Theft: ya i know, BAD GM but hey if your characters are going through NPCs like water I have found that hte net can be an endless source of NPCs partially fleshed out to use and abuse to your needs. If ya got the boys to do it that includes crossing over other systems tech, items and vehcles.

     

    3. Fear: I ran a pretty graphic game w/ some pretty seriously disturbed villians that ended w/ the party finding out that in the darkest corners in the net, Azathoth was there and her too was no longer dreaming. Cthullu and wicked dark villians will keep PCs not only on thier toes but acutely paranoid,(ever jack in and end up going to Leng?) things not being totaly tech, but partially biotech/mythos has made my players both partly disturbed but untilI left, all very happy and never quite aware of all that was going on.

     

    but as other Gms may attest to , the most important thing to a good campaign is Practice practice practice!

Cthullu is a personal fovorite of mine but if ya don't wanna get that invested in the research and lore (to do it well takes WAY too much reference material, trust me I know!) if ya can get ahold of the old Ianus game/Dreampod 9 supplements they cover a basic system that I've referred other GMs to and they all have thanked me in the past, Give'em a shot.

    Medtech 7 Apperence 9 w/ a taste for meat and an arc furnace in the top floor of her Flatline club. It took almost a year and serveral hundred casulites (mostly NPC contacts) for the PCs to catch on, considering she was thier hook up for illegal cyberware and odd "extraction" jobs.

     

    Oh, it was brutal... brutal indeed!

Hey guys, I actually have 3 very close friends of mine who are SWAT?first-response types and they said that flashbangs would set off any type of gaseous explosive so if it would go BOOM it already woudl have but they said that a good cloud of gas goes along way for hostage extracting along w/ flame supressed (read silenced) firearms and rapid 5X5 movment to kill all offender.. um I mean "pacify" all offenders and thenlock soen and control all collateral damage is about beans and rice for such and occasion.

    If you can get a hold of the old TSR Gangbusters RPG it gives a wonderfuls scematic for the organization and (gasp) a chart on how to role up the relative #'s of enforcers under each tier of a Cova Nostra type mob syndicate. It's a little heavy on the mozzarella but hey if cheese hurt we all wouldn't be roleplaying! :p
