Back down the stairs for the disertation on firefighting. Check the bloodpile that was Jeff, look around att people, assess situation, flash Ahfu a dirty little smile....

  2. Hly batshit batman!!! It's Borgy!!!!

    (really missed ya man)

I gotta say Hell yeah to Johnny coming back into the scene,

It's up to you's guys. Either we can take it from the morning of the Wake and you all are contracted and nebulous mett and greet, or I can start up a new jobbo.

    Let me know

  3. So, after much RL kicking me in the head I get to cleaning Apostasis and rereading the netrunnung work that's been done and a question comes to me,

So here we have a few real good solutions and no testing ground for them.

Who wants to start a netspace game and give these new rules a run in GMing, among other things?

I for one would be itching to try it out

  4. So here it is, I am looking for 1-4 players, all the standard stuff that is in the mortified version stands, and we can continue along w/ some of the same characters, or throw it all out and run a different job.

Oh the jobs I have, and the few hundred NPCs I have at my disposal should be horded by just me and my group at home.

    Interested? Let's hear it.

  5. OK for clarification, this line.

If you let other skills (say firearms) allow you to become prof. in related skills (I believe the example was Weaponsmith) you will give PCs little incentive to do things at an unskilled check to raise non-developed skills. This would be a bastrdiztion of the Interlock system (kinda takes the Edge out of it).

This I know was the orignial basis of this thread, and should be quashed quickly and effiecntly as possible...

The other thread, well i haven't taken time to look much at it.

    Oh well, clarification?

  6. Variatiobns in TL in the GURPS world should be a standard no one is too hard pressed to toss. Really, some of the stuff that they throw into differing TL makes sense, yet others, if the campaign had acces to all the stuff in a given TL would make about 30% of the other stuff of the same TL absolete.

So, use it as a resource and bend it tothe laws of logic. Well at least CP logic, and let'er fly!

  7. Really Arch,

If we eliminate the whole aspect of unskilled actions in favor of letting PCs do things at a skilled level that they really didn't either plan into thier character concept (the reason so many folks in my campaigns either have a handful of 1's and 2's or a chipware socket) or earn the hard way (which really is staisfying at the end of a run of gaming) we let them get away w/ some of the lesser tensors that make the challege of keeping that wook of a PC of thiers alive.

Don't make it easier than it already is for PCs otherwise they way become complancent.

And we don't want that, do we?

  8. p!ss on it, YES IT DO!

is my wife and myself for that matter, a recorded music artist, YES!

Does several of my close family friends (and you know how hard that is to be) make thier living off software, YES

Do I copy and pirate justabout everything I need and/or want,

AT THE DROP OF A HAT BABY.

DO I feel guilty about it?

...now do you really have to ask that question?

  9. HOLD THE PHONE HERE!!!

(sorry to yell, but his gotta be said)

I am sick and f#cking tired of folks NOT attempting certain actions just because they didn't throw any points into it.

Anyone can TRY anything (stat +d10) and I am sick and f#cking tired of mealy mouthed GMs and Placyer saying, I can't do anything, my character doesn't have any skill points in it.

    WRONG!!!

It just means that you character (like most folks IRL) aren't trained at a given task. Get OVER it! do the task and EVEN IF YOU FAIL, you still get a point or two of IP to throw at it. OR

Better yet, IF YOU SUCCED, you definately are gonna get some decent pointage to that skill and <gasp!> you may actually get to have that big #1 or 2 in it after a while.

That, or if yer too pansy to wait for natural teaching, just buy the bloody chip.

    Really they're not that expensive

BUT, if we go giving folks points in skills they don't already possess, we might as well smash the whole damned thing and let is catch fire cuz we have offically stupified the system that by and large WORKS DAMNIT!!!

Sorry about the tirade, but it REALLY needed to be said!

  10. Lookng generally about as happy as she's ever looked at Smith Renata gives a half smile,

"Everybody lives. No one dies. Zhis one (points at Jeff) is down for a long time, maybe to Sidewinders to heal. Zhat one, away as well, Ii have to go back in to get zha bullet out, but no. Everyone lives. No one dies."

leans back on her haunches, grunts and pops up, stripping her golves off as she does.

"Bennett, store Jill on some dorph, I vill go in later to get zha bullet out, but it do no harm now.'

Looks of 'matter of fact' at everyone.

"Now, I need to use the bathroom..."

  11. ALRIGHTY FOLKS!!!

The PUblic, w/ his ubiquitous CP Genre source book collection has the cure for yer ills yet again,

The best usable desciption and classification of the Cyberpunk Autolathe. auto factory I have ever seen is in,

    (Drum roll please)

GURPS UltraTech 2, the devinitive descriptions, capablities, pricing and quality matrixes for certain products at certain qualities as well as a pausibly denialble reason of how and why they work is all contained within, as well as alot of goodies that All gms should use to keep the tech stream flowing throught the campaigns. Since afterall, if the tech never gets better, what are the PCs really strving to get thier grubby hands on after a few years?

    Buy it, steal it, whatever.

    Enjoy!!!

  12. Ok lets show why this system can be a big broken in the wrong hand (namely, mine) and hte reason that Shadowrun really got hit inthe nose first time I played it in 90.

for an example lets say I want a 'borg with lots of cool cyber.

in decending order my priorities look like this

    Money

    Bionics

    Skills

    Edges

    Attributes

This gives me 100,000 EB,  an Alpha 'borg chassis to customize, 40 points for skills,  2 points for Edges and 24 for attributes.  Since I'm getting a 'borg chassis attribute points are the least important.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>&g

    t;

So I take this alpha chasis, put jack of sh!t into any attributes covered by the borg frame (allowing me to max the others to a high level) and the cash to get just about whatever I want, then I would switch the att with the Edge points (assuming we are using the Edges system) and walk out w/ a roving raving Deathpod of a character that any GM worth thier salt will have a bitch of a time killing of regualting to keep the game challenging for the party.

    Thanks,but better shot next time?

  13. OK, besides it being a bit of a bugger to juggle those #s during combat, I only see one real intrinsic flaw:

If you can use IP to raise you attributes, why would you ever waste it in just raising individual skills?

Really now, if I can use just twice the ususal amount of IP to raise in practical sense ALL the skills affected by one of the stats, why would I waste any IP in just raising one over the others, it just wouldn't be practical. Rules lawyers will run these numbers in a New York minute. other than that, i personally use a Skill/age format for issuing starting money that works real well and if ya want to see it, it's around here somewhere ot I can send it to ya personally.

  14. i believe the rules synamics regarding skills in the Interlock system covers the uses of the item for the Ref skills (your hangun to rifle comp and more over to the weaponsmith options) Knowing how to use an item really well does not in any case relate to being able to service that item well tho.

I have folks who are the baddest of the bad w/ thier pistol, but don't have a clue on how to file down the firing mechanism of thier SMGs to make them full auto.  Ref skills bleeding into others, well that is why the dynamic is:

Attribute + skill (if possessed) +d10 so that even if you don't know the appropriate skill you still have a shot at doing something right the first time, and if you look and the shots on raising attributes w/ IP and the reasons that is intrinsicly flawed, you will see why the system works well to maintain balance in the long and short running campaigns.

and besides, those 1's earned the hard way always seem to be worth more than anything else after all...

  15. Actually i have a Juicer to CP2020 concversion that I stole off line from someone's site, and by and large it's pretty good, but really GMs, do you want this running amok in your campaigns?

Well, a modified form maybe in a real rough and tumble setting but the by and large game?

If ya need it, let me know

  16. matched .25's eh Mosca, well then here's one thing IRL that may upset ya a bit...

    When: 1993

    Where: Chicago, S side,

Who: my homie B, a 6' 6" brother fromm Rober Taylor homes

What: had a guy unload a 25 (5 rds) into his torso, took the pistol and beat him to death with it by the time the cops showed, he went in and was released on self defense.

Moral; If yer gonna use that small of a gun, make sure you aim into the face love.

  17. Archy,

  18. sew sew sew, lets put this SOB back together again, plasma flowin', blood stopping, neck a sewin'

under her breath "i got it, i-a want it, oh yeah, da haus of blood, i want it, i need it, blood, da house of blood.." (sewing away) Renata looks up intermitantly at the others and cracks a smile between sprays of antiseptic.

"Ack, almost done here. Godt I gotta take a sh!t!"

Smiles over at Bennett if he has held it together,

"Vhat is goingk on outside children?" looks at the girlie, "bandages and cotton and iodine"

  19. Contineing to kick @ss and take names, Renata continure to close up the bleeding, ah, no problem,

"I need zha f#cking bone glue in my bag and a can of spray skin now, gotta make shiz poor b@stard a throat. Oh and zhat trach tube in the side pocket, zhat too" looks up at the crowd.

"DON'T FF#CKING WATCH ME! WATCH THE F#CKING WINDOWS, ZHEY MAY COME BACK!" of course not really hearing anything in the background.

"Sediatives, vhere is zhose f#cking dorph patches we fixed up Bennett? two for zha girl and 3 coming in here, NOW!"

(stitch stitch, sew sew, spray spray, rinse rinse)

(Uses the bone glue (1 part to 6 spray skin) and reforms up a makeshift tracheal wall around the tube that she will cram down his windpipe from the top, and oh yeah, dorph dorph dorph...)
