Hey guys, sry about disappearing on you. I got sick a couple of weeks ago and thought it was the flu. After taking some OTC stuff I went and seen the doctor and they gave me antibiotics cause of me being sick and having a sinus and ear infection. The Infections went away but I continued to be sick and got worse. That's when I found out I have damaged kidneys/liver. Through testing I found out that my body isn't processing food the way it should. Give me to next week and I'll be as good as new....sorta.

Thats a good thing to get diagnosed now.. If only RL was as easy as opening ChrB 1 and getting a downpayment on a T-Maxx Cyberliver.. May as well upgrade the arm too..

Boris stands 6' tall, and weighs approximately 195 pounds, with shoulder length wavy brown hair and a well trimmed beard. His clothes and duffle bag are high end designer brand gear, and looks like he should be welcoming you to the latest club or rave rather than standing in a pit ready to fight.

 

Boris is wearing designer black slacks over Ruf Tread black boots. His long sleeve burgundy button up shirt is custom fit to accommodate his over-sized cyberarm - a true beauty of Russian engineering. It is slightly longer than a standard arm, the shoulder joint is massive compared to American cyber, there is a mass of cables, no refined edge - it is all blocks and rectangles flowing together - and no chrome. It is industrial and functional. After he shrugs off his dress shirt you see he has a designer brand white tank top underneath.

 

OOC - for a quick mental pic, check out actor Alex Veadov in either Equalizer or Act of Valor, he pretty much captured the style I envisioned.

Sera happily soaks up the atmosphere, moving ably with the crowd who are wildly bloodthirsty (Did they really allow everyone in armed!). Livewire expertly stares down anyone who gets too boisterous and close. They wisely choose to keep their distance..

The red head exits the ring - the two women giving each other 'the look' until Red disappears into the crowd.

She steps ringside as the challenger speaks to the Ref. The crowd seems to be backing the local talent but somehow she feels that the outsider has potential.

Fuck it.. This could go badly but here goes nothing

"$300 on Boris!"

She glances back to see Livewire mouthing "WTF" and just gives a shrug..

The excitement was building steadily as the driver expertly weaves the cab through the city traffic, their arrival announced cheerily as the cab draws level with a run down warehouse. Sera quickly pays the driver before skipping after the others who are already disappearing through a crumbling warehouse doorway.

She spies the muscle standing discretely inside to doorway, scanning everyone who passes. He lets he past with a knowing nod and the faintest of smiles leaving Sera wondering if she has seen him before..

The thought passes as she moves through a second set of doors, finding herself immersed into a frenzied crowd.

She stops. A moment of panic descending on her, as she realises her friends are nowhere to be seen.. panic quickly replaced by relief as Livewire emerges from the throng.. grabs her arm and pulls her expertly through.. the crowd erupting celebrating the bloody victor of the last fight.

They reach the front just as the crowd starts murmuring.. confused as a red head snarls into the Ref's ear. Behind her Sera can just make out the outline of a man, duffel bag slung awkwardly over his shoulder, his hand reflecting the ringside lights..

How much did the cab cost me? Just so I can keep a track for finances

but does that couch have space for weapons storage, or armored seat cushions to use as shields?

 

ha it doesn't! but my goodness that is an eyesore! Bed version available as well.

In fact once you start looking, furniture disguised to hide weapons appears to be a thriving market. Liking also the SUV running boards

If there is a car available perhaps it would be sensible for Atta to have it. His character, with his shop and all, has more roots.

Um, I think I did mention somewhere that you could have a vehicle, something around the 5k range for a price. And I'm sorry guys that I'v been gone so long.

Armor plate inserts are armor plate inserts. As long as they stand to the ballistic resilience standards, there's little difference whether thay ate made of steel, ceramics, plastic (poliethylene, IIRC) or, I guess, foamed metal.

 

The differences are elsewhere:

1. Weight (for a given ballistic protection level),

2. Thickness (again, as above)

3. Cost.

4. Possibly the need of a backplate (anti-spall layer).

 

For example, adequate-quality steel plates can be made pretty thin and cheap (manufacturing cost. Getting them certified is another kettle of fish). But they are heavy.

In turn,poliethylene inserts are fairly light, but thick and bulky.

Agree, details are a little sketchy but I imagine a reduction in the weight and bulk therefore increasing the mobility of the user.

On costs.. progress is never cheap

So body armor is taking a step forward in tech level with the use of metal foam.

We don't really have anything similar in the UK.. Not on the same scale. I would imagine the refugee camp in Calais was the closest. And near a bridge

Plenty of drugs, violence, organised crime, smuggling going on there to count as an honorary combat zone. Just hasn't happened in an urban area.

When I was in Copenhagen there was an area where drugs were more or less sold openly..

Freetown Christiania.. As close to an urban combat zone as I've come across. Lacking much of the violence to count perhaps

I haven't a car so catching a cab seems to be the best option.. Only crack addicts get the Metro (underground).. Well seemed that way last time I was in LA

I ended up driving everywhere.

(My hotel was near Hollywood and it couldn't be described as salubrious)

Time to hail a cab..

Sera strides confidently out of the building and onto the sidewalk. A shrill whistle cuts through the traffic noise and she raises her arm..

Seraphine happily spends time chatting with her friends, appreciating the lighter atmosphere away from the streets..

Grabbing another drink, and slurping excitedly.. she continues.. firing questions back as they are answered

"Natalya!! A title fight - how did I not know about this!"

"Of course I'll come. Is it a big crowd? - What sort of people are there?"

She grins thinking off the potential opportunities for business.

"Say I'm not really clued up on martial arts.. What style do you fight in, what title do you hold?..."

"I need a new outfit.. Left my jacket in the bar last night. Harli, fancy a shop?" Pointing at her hoody "I can't be wearing this old thing.."
