Letting you know where things are at : The Dice Have Spoken. I just have to novelize it, and it's a waaaay bigger job than it looks just now, as it requires a huge stack of new material to be created. It's coming. And there's going to be lots more maps. Lots.
  2. Random inspirations I've not used yet : The streets are always clean, the Scav bot herders eat it all up. Bins are the piggy bank now. Dreaming of a balcony overlooking the huge scree-plane favela at night, it grows in layers of a day when I'm not there. I leave buckets of silica-glittering sand for the facade to feed on. It catches my dreaming with spider-fine antennae. She looks gorgeous tonight in the fuchsia pink cera-plating. We tool around the Flats in the racer frame, then decide to cruise bayside. The squishies pour out after us, flashing and stinging. We laugh and run
  3. Activate soap-box mode... <soap> Gutterpunk is Anti-Technological. It is the rejection of the 'dehumanising' influence of technology and the new society it creates. The Cyberpunk rules inherently push this point with Humanity Cost. It states that dehumanising technological advancement is inherently a corrupting, evil process. I reject the Old Order's terms! I denigrate and replace 'dehumanizing' with "Mechanizing!" I decry and reject it as 'corruption', it is "Optimization!" Cyberpunk games should end in Technological Apotheosis for the Forwar
  4. The Luck idea could work...it uses the surrounding environment, & isn't crazy Fireballs level. But. It depends on the vibe the GM wants to create...
  5. Sure you can tell a tight story and keep the gear real, but with the infinite effects budget of GMing - why not go Big? This may actually be about Story preference, rather than Gear choice. A careful study of how Humans will React to feasible future stress is great for empathising with the characters, the reality of it. I care less about the human element, than the environment created by new technology. If that Über-rail + LADAR makes the USAF obsolete because there's nowhere to hide in the sky, that dramatically alters the 'symmetry' of warfare, and the potentials inherent in th
  6. My current insane theories are : Balance shmalance. I've been trying to make sure each post/turn, every player has something to do, that requires their talents. Thus, you can have your capoeirista-assault-borg drop-kicking AV4's whilst your street dwelling PI menaces a witness with his .38. Replace 'balance' with 'equivalence.' 1. Promotion! They now have to look after 4 teams of equivalent scale, deal with their underling's personal problems and pay them all. But they can bring hell to bear on their enemies. 2. Really, really, wild parties. Make those
  7. ...Magic is inaccessible to un-augmented human minds, all AI's are automatically Wizards, because they have a deep immediate and unbiased perception of Reality - a 'Magic Singularity'? And so, if you ally yourself to an AI, it may give you talisman/comms to summon its powers to your aid, but you never truly 'control' it, and it can withdraw at any time?

Alright. We'll cool it, but keep going. Also - you may note, I updated the Red Team's MG's from RPDs to PKMs. Acronym typo late at night. Sigh. Yes, this does make them a threat to the L-Five, but they will have to bash their way through.

*blush* I'm trying my best. I'm testing the Diaspora tags and zones system, to see if it makes tactically sound but easy-to-operate combat possible via forum. Let me know how it goes! How-To for the sketch - Screenshot of Google-Earth to Photoshop. Trace 'blocks' on a separate layer, drag it to the side. Feature/pointer layers to suit. I was considering colouring it all smoky red to match the atmospheric conditions, but I figured that TacNet would use the most recent, clearest image. Incidentally, that means I'm using the actual street images from g.Earth, so if you go

@ StrayCatalyst "Shiny" Nelson : Vzzzzzzz...and up it goes...the drone icon flashes up on TacNet and catches a tail-wind ahead, zooming down (1). Dameon flicks vision over to Thermal, and the blurry Black & White of heat over-writes the chocolate-mousse darkness. (1.Tag - Drone Coverage, Delta-1) Visibility is 150m, beyond that, it's all silhouette. Streetlights are out - only a few building windows are weakly lit by battery/candle light. Chuck studies TacNet. "We'd have to breach through north-end of Block 5, if we're there early we may..." Eyr

  13. Need there be any other reason? Frankly, it looks like it'll appeal to the gangsta market, along with the boxy Land Rovers and Mercedes models...

Nelson faithfully translates. Lima pales. He looks sick. He thrashes his head back against the seat and cries aloud. A glance from Nelson. Chuck's Police-presence-projection. Lima crumbles. Yes - you All understood that, through the accent. A pin drops. <Eyrie to All, we have a CPD* and are Raising Blue Flag. Blue Flag, do you copy, over?> Phil states over TacNet. Bundy shoves a finger to his ear, outside near the Taxi Driver on the road side, listening. <Roman to Eyrie, we copy. X-Ray! Blue Flag, we're on Polic

@ Master_Drow "Shiny" Nelson : <Yellow Zone, suburban, lot of secondary business. Low urban, two and three story buildings, some warehousing and farming. Ordinary Iraqi's and migrants, looking for the life. Ah! Yeah, no angry mobs for a decade, OMA is welcome there.> //ooc : CEP = is given as a Radius. 2km. <Roman to X-Ray - negative on fire, we're still in the Green Zone. Equivalent, defensive fire only. Be ready for it, but god help you if you trigger - SI will be all up in your face. Do you copy?> Roman sounds pained. He wants to take ou

Ogre is on comms to a location in Al Hillah, and is...we believe renegotiating a short term contract. Tracing. Over.> @ StrayCatalyst "Shiny" Nelson : Direct to Nelson, a comm line pops up in HUD. <Eyrie here - listen to this. Tell me what you think...> Audio feed begins, crunchy with background static and software distortion teasing the signal out of encryption. @ All : Eyrie simply states <Traced.> A new Pin drops o
  18. Simpler solution. A court decision that The Right to Bear Arms shall not be infringed on public transport. Everyone is free to bring what they like on their carry-on luggage, but experience a surcharge for devices hazardous to hull integrity. If any Terrorist does try to take-over, they can expect to be mugged by twenty concealed-carry/pop-out weapon armed cyborgs who actually really do want to go to Houston today, not to Cuba, thankyouverymuch. All seats come with parachute.

@ StrayCatalyst "Shiny" Nelson : Lima babbles to Nelson : "I was to be paid in Al-Hillah at The Office because they said just had to merge through the convoy they said they pointed it out and that I just had to merge through and turn left and that was all and they said it was very unlikely I would be shot..." <Got 'em just here.> Murray drags a suit-case out by his ankle and flips up the fat plastic locks. <Roman acknowledges.> <Scanning now.> @ Master_Drow Dameon : The slate in Lima's pocket rings. @ Eraser "Chuck" O'Connor : The Taxi driver doesn't particularly want to come out of his nice comfy seat to lie in the dust, but wrenching the door open gives him the idea, and he resignedly lies on the ground, praying under his breath. He's done this before. He knows how to turn his turban to be a pillow for his fore-head. @ Master Drow Dameon : The passenger, the guy you were chasing from the ramming incident (Lima), stutters out something that sounds like an apology. He holds up open palms and goes to his knees yammering on and pointing at his chest.

The taxi driver pushes out. He's hurt. Favours his left side, protecting it with a tensed up arm. He wants to run, but he may not have it in him. @ StrayCatalyst "Shiny" Nelson : You can unlock the doors, but they're manual to open.

@ master drow / Dameon : //ooc : yes, you have the beanbag rounds. He's still gonna freak out if you point that cannon at him though ... @ stray catalyst / "Shiny" Nelson : The taxi slows down and puts its warning blinkers on. You are delivering the stay still warnings. The driver is, keeping his hands visible on the wheel. The passenger goes for the right side door...struggles it open.

Pushing south through the night. Victor is ahead and in the outer lane. Roman has killed the flashers - the two L-Fives are nothing but black SUVs now. Eyrie drops some pins on TacNet, forming a rough chain, heading east slowly then moving south faster. <Eyrie to All, the Taxi Driver has exfil'ed on foot to the East, and has got himself a ride south.> a Pin pulses, dead ahead about 3 klicks. <He will soon be out of Drone coverage-window. Even with the tail-wind.> Text from Goose team. +G to All:Standby+ A pause. Video of the 'evening' in progress shows Sop
