  1. Hi there,

it's been a while since I last showed up here.

Okay, been snapreading here and there but not much.

Well, life was taking up lots of time and still does...

My little DVFP show was frozen up in that time as well due to all of us having little time to play at all...

Spring and summer contributed their share in doing more outdoor stuff instead of playing.

We are going to continue in a couple of weeks though, so I thought I might show up here as well.

Just wanted to say hi and use this thread here since I don't know which else to use...

  2. For the german punks out there... ...or any other who don't mind travelling for Larp...

    http://www.lost-ideas.com/

Lost Ideas is a project that's been running for a year or two. (not sure)

I didn't check it out myself but only heard good feedback 'bout those guys.

    They have three settings running:

    - Zombi Apocalypse (speaks for itself)

    - Fate (Postapocalyptic - like Mad Max I'd guess)

    - Schattenlauf (Dark Future Shadowrun - well don't like SR myself)

I read a report of their last "Fate".

It seems to be focused pretty much on survival.

Everything is scarce... food, water, gasoline, ammo, anti-radiation-pills and co...

Story was about a truck convoy which will leave for a better place to live.

The players had to equip themselves with stuff to be able to travel unharmed.

So they had to fullfill some little missions to get enough of it.

Failure means u wouldn't have enough gasoline and strand in the middle of the desert or not have anti-radiation-pills so u got radiated.

Consequences are taken to the next event.

So for example if u got radiated ur char is affected by this the next time.

They created quite an interesting way to implement softairs without killing the rpg factor.

    U got two zones types:

    - The Combat Zones

    Allways wear ur goggles.

    Shooting allowed.

    - The eh... Peace Zones.

    No shooting.

    Keep goggles ready.

If NPCs attack or another fight breaks loose the gms turn on a siren.

Put on goggles - free to shoot.

  3. Hi Punks!

    Had introduced myself already.

We had started a short CP session and stopped again.

Life's a bitch and stuff got me flatlined for a while.

But since a couple of weeks it looks like we're going to restart for real next year.

Can't predict how active I'll be in this forum but I'll try to give my share of input.

So just wanted to say "Hi!" again, u stinking pack of never dying dark future junks.

    Stay chromed...

  4. I don´t know if it has allready been mentioned since I didn´t read the whole thread.

Style over substance was one of the reason I actually stopped playing CP.

    I just say helmets.

They are one of the most unstyilsh things u can put on ur character but are one of the most important equipments to secure survival.

I refused wearing them and payed for my stuborness with almost all my characters.

I mean, of course there are reasons to wear a helmet, but not many reasons in the everyday life.

So why should my mohawk wearing nomad put on a helmet?

Oh yeah he is (was) a biker, right... So he wears it 24/7 of course.

Bull... He´d never destroy his haircut.

I really got pissed off cause there were a couple of specialists in my group that were almost always protected against headshots while I started creating my own R.I.P. folder.

Every tenth hit is deadly if u don´t wear protection.

That might be realistic but as far as I am concerned it forces substance over style on a player.

I am quite happy that I found a couple of different hit location tables which reduce that problem.

Still need to find a fumble alternative since that´s crap as well.

My last character shot off here own leg and died insatntly even though she was a professional sniper, kneeling and aiming her rifle at the back of three goons that were pinning down a friend.

Guess who survived the scene on mortal 4 or something.

That was the day when I had enough.

I usually try to give my characters some individuality that includes style.

Of course there are enough reasons for substance but they have to be reasonable.

  5. Only the best survive...

CP has gone quite underground as far as I can tell.

    Doesn´t matter actually.

I think there are enough books for a lifetime and lots of houserules as well.

I was really impressed by the quantity but also the quality.

U guys do a great job.

Helps alot since there were a couple of things that I really disliked about the rules.

Nontheless, CP has one of the greatest settings I know.

    All things gone Dark.
