  1. Ive seen this video file of some dolt trying to make a bomb with his friends. They put ammonia and bleach in a 2L coke bottle. To mix it you need to agitate the liquids. To anyone with an ounce of common sense that would mean throw it so when it bounces it gets shook, no? Well this kid just shook it in his hand. He probably has no arm.

  2. You can download the comics, the film off suprnova. I think standalone complex (tv series) is now on there.

The game is coming out for the ps2 aswell. Theres already a playstation game out.

Im on the 2nd tv series at the minute and loving it.

  3. Dc hubs have a similar tier system to an irc channel (op, vip, serf). Many (if not all) of the hubs have constraints on the channel, these include minimum share size and in some (very few) cases bandwidth. The channels also have bots which actively browse your shares, they search for fake/incomplete/excessively large files that fake your shares.

You can download anything of dc.

Kazaa (and Kazaa lite) are supposed to be bad to use as they install SPyWare on your computer to manage the finances.

It might just be stupid hearsay but I also heard they were going to start charging their users after new year, seeing as they can't afford to keep the servers otherwise.

Therefore I must advertise Direct Connect ++ which is still free and for all to use. The old Direct COnnect is more user friendly, but most of the hubs only work with DC++...

There's also a larger variety of things offered, given that you find the right hubs to connect to.

Does Direct Connect++ offer spyware as a package deal as well?

If it's so good, why is everyone still using Kazza, Morpheus, etc?

I've since uninstalled the Kazza program on my computer but there are still adware+spyware on it!

Dc++ rocks. They have special anime hubs and stuff. I think the main reason the average joe does not use it is because they have not heard of it. It also takes a fair bit of getting used to. For starters you have to know which hub to look in to get what you want. To get decent files you need a decent share easily >10gb.

Also, kazaa are lying if they need funds for their servers. Kazaa is 100% decentralised. Im quite happy kazaa exists though, it tends to keep the assholes entertained and off better systems.

Get rid of spyware with adaware or spybot s&d. The latter is free and seems to work well. If you still have problems you might need to reformat.

  5. I like many genres. The main ones i am into are Drum & Bass, Indie and good (mostly uk) hiphop (anyone who mentions dizee rascal will get a slap, tis not hiphop) and for when im in a mood or tired Bigbeat/Triphop.

I have portisheads dummy and massive attacks mezzanine in the post at the moment.

I also <3 pink floyd with a passion.

As far as electronic music goes, Aphex Twin is a genius (person in my avatar). His music videos are also works of 'art'.

  6. The problem is transporting it back to earth. But it would be a good way to power future stations on the planet.

Honda (i think) have made a hydrogen powered car, it uses 'fuel stacks'. Apparently it has more bhp than a vw golf. It will do about 90mph. i forgot the figures on mileage though.

A little off topic, but the GPS "jitter" is just in the civilian transmission.  Military GPS is as accurate as the system can get (I think only 0.5m resolution, but I'm not sure).  That's why some people prefer the Soviet or European versions (can't remember their names), since they don't have a "civilian jitter."

Either way it was disabled when the gulf was on. The jitter can also be calculated if you have two recievers next to each other. You talk of 2 different systems? are there seperate sat's for the two? or do they just talk a little different? or is it on the reciver?

  8. Smart bombs are gps guided. Most gps sattelites have a 'jitter' on them to make the reciever less accurate (about 1-2 sq m). But during the gulf war, for example this jitter was removed allowing the gps recivers work within a couple of cm. The reason for this was for possible use of gps guided weaponary. Im not sure if it was used then though.

Opera, ive heard of it... is it actually any good? i havent taken the time to look into it realy... anyone who uses it, care to rate it out of 10? with 1 being netscape, 10 being the most perfect explorer in the world!

Opera was the browser of my choice till I tried Firebird. Firebird is very small, very fast and you can use your third mouse button to open a link in the background - i love that. I just open this forum, click on every thread i want to read and then close the forum - and they are all there, allready loaded and ready to be read.

I haven't the foggiest if this all works on Windows - I run a gentoo linux and killed my windows - now that I learned how to burn cds on linux :)

Yes its pretty much the same in windoze. I really would like to learn linux, but i like playing games. And more importantly im too lazy.

:hangshead: i confess i also have a 2nd hdd with linux. But im too lazy to learn and make it my primary operating system.

Ah! The joy of not being alone... But I wonder. What makes Firebird better than Mozilla?

About the test: I wouldn't have scored too well. But I didn't feel like waiting for ever (guess what, I'm using Mozilla).

I find firebird to be faster, it also is smaller so you see more of the page. And it comes without the email and irc stuff which i dont bother using.

  11. Going on the people round my way pop rock, rnb, and hip-pop is what youth seems to be into.

I mean i have nothing against rock or hiphop but if your going to listen to it you might aswell listen to people with talent. If i had a quid for everytime some trendy twat tells me that drum n bass is rubbish, then i would be very well off. Infact one person tried to use the fact that i put the prodigy - experience on in the common room as ammunition against me. What i have noticed is that oddly enough people into metal will tolerate dnb/jungle yet people into commercial dance/hiphop wont.  :0

The only punk i can really comment on is the libertines, which i quite like. A mate slipped it onto the end of a radiohead minidisk.

How can someone makea nerd test that is incompatible with Mozilla? Is he trying to discriminate?

    -Chrysalis

They probably 'thunk' that if you are a nerd by default.

every nerd knows that: mozilla firebird > mozilla > IE

:hangshead: i confess i also have a 2nd hdd with linux. But im too lazy to learn and make it my primary operating system.

  13. peoples integrity can already be violated. There are sattelites around that can read numberplates. And that is proven, so you can bet that they can do better. If they want to keep track of you then they will.

The best method of control is controlling people whilst they think they are free.

In fact Pi is kinda cyberpunkish movie.
Love Pi and Requiem for a Dream too. Worship Darren Aronosfky.

I pretty much hate every sci-fi series these days.

So TV: The Simpsons, Friends, Gilmore's Girls and Late Night with Conan O'Brien...and Emmerdale ;)

I always had the feeling pi was set in the past. It was prolly because it was b&w (i know that was because of budget but i love the high contrast grainy b&w) but also i guessed because of the size of his mainframe.

Also both of those films have excellent soundtracks. Especially pi i love the way when he starts making progress the drum n bass kicks in. On the cd it has intros like "11:15 press return" which send shivvers down my spine.

  15. Dont know if any of you have seen this but apparently nasa is altering the mars pics. I think its just due to them trying to correct for optics and stuff. And that on some of the photos they take a lo-res snapshot then a high res one. Although i like conspiracys.

edit, the site has gone and i didnt bother to check.

but i have now found an explanation to the theories: http://www.atsnn.com/story/30048.html

Monty Python is comic genius, I'm also a fan of Red Dwarf and the Fast Show.

They don't make any decent british comedies anymore, it's terrible.  :(

Little britain came close to being very good.

Last few decent comedies were the pheonix nights and spaced.

  17. Nice to see that im not the only red dwarf fan here. But what do you all think about them making a movie?

From past experience i have found that when the bbc make a film of a successful tv series it is usually crap.
