  1. You always practice firing with your off hand. In fun-house training, sometimes we would go through the whole thing firing off handed. Of course, I have the advantage that my battle buddy was left handed and I'm right.

That bit about the sites is true. In a CQB, sites are a crutch that will get you killed because your trying to line them up. Little trick I've used before is the pointer finger lineup. You stick your pointer finger straight down the side of the weapon, pull the trigger with your index finger, and just point your finger at the target like you would be pointing it out to someone. Takes some practice to get used to but once you do you can snap off shots right on target with little effect and without even thinking about sites.   :shoot:

If your going to practice shooting in a combat situation, its best to do it on action ranges. That is, ranges where your walking/running/jumping/crawling along with targets popping up. Hostile and non combatants. Don't shoot the nonhostiles, pop the hostiles before they pop you (depends on the timer their set on), avoid any traps.

  2. Some metal and glass fragments in my arms and lets (none in torso thanks to vest), two rebuild knees that set off the metal detector every time (damn airports suck now), oh and a sliver of medal stuck in the eye ridge bone over my left eye. Basicly behind the eyebrow.

So yea, guess my knees are the only thing that counts since their not natural at all. Scars are really cool though.

  3. Me being a dumb lil infantry guy and all...  :mg:

We would rip the thing to pieces to see how it all worked and most likely not be able to put it back together. Plus that monster looks far bigger than my M-4 Carbine, even with all the fancy toys I got on mine (You know, Laser&IR/White Flood, Forehand Grip, x3 Day/night scope with light filter).

If something isn't small and compact and doing the job, we toss it. Heck, in Iraq I know lots of guys who quit hauling around their M-16 and started packing one of those cut down AK-47s with the foregrip and folding/no stock.

Make it easy to carry, hard to break, and very dependable and its a good weapon.

  4. Silenced weapons aren't. The proper term is sound supressed or supresser. Of course, having real life experence in with firearms being shot at me as well as being shot, I can tell you that it is fairly easy to tell if a gunshot is actually aimed towards you. Just hear a load crack? Not at you. Hear a whistling sound? Duck and cover. And even with a vest on, the round hitting you still hurts like heck. With 7.62 NATO plates, an AK-47 round to the chest put me in the hospital for a week.

    Cheers
