  1. I only read Malek's post and knew what he was talking about when he wrote 'All white, plastic and perfect' - should I be worried? Great video, though. It's the 90ies version of Sexy Robot. And what I found most surprising, it's actually sexy...

  2. Someone came up with the 'Virtuality'-concept some time ago, though I don't remember who exactly it was. Couldn't find it in the archives, either. Anyway, it was an outline of how one would make this pervasive matrix in the real world work. Got link?

  3. Ok, I've listened to the station quite a lot now and like what I hear. Now I've been thinking about some additions to the playlist, if you allow or care. I have all the songs, but no space to put them up (yet). My flatmate has some sort of apache-server running in his room, so I guess I'll ask him if I can use some space there if you want me to.

    Wishlist:

    1. Laibach - Message From The Black Star (5:52)

    2. Laibach - Reject or Breed (4:12)

    3. leslie fish - Bring It Down (2:33)

    4. virgin prunes - caucasian walk (4:40)

    5. Adam Freeland - We Want Your Soul (5:07)

    6. Excessive Force - Violent Peace (4:45)

    7. PTP - Rubber Glove Seduction (5:25)

    8. Psykosonik - Silicon Jesus (Duality Mix) (5:37)

And I wonder how you people would feel about more 'Music from the Corporate Zone' - that soulless electroclash-stuff?

  4. Update (since there were some additions to my playlist)

    - Panacea, Needle Sharing ,Tarmvred, DJ Scud, Izoloscope and other DnB-Stuff

    - Adam Freeland (esp. We Want Your Soul and Fear Is The Mindkiller) plus other electroclash-stuff

    - more noise and industrial stuff (mono no aware (yes, still), rasthof dachau, etc)

    - some neofolk-stuff in preparation for the ordo rosario equilibro (sp?) gig next month (where i was told i'd do the merchendising-booth. funny to hear that...)

:hangshead: i confess i also have a 2nd hdd with linux. But im too lazy to learn and make it my primary operating system.

Ah! The joy of not being alone... But I wonder. What makes Firebird better than Mozilla?

About the test: I wouldn't have scored too well. But I didn't feel like waiting for ever (guess what, I'm using Mozilla).

    - Toshinori Kondo (either with Bill Laswell and occ. Ernaldo Bernocci or DJ Krush)

Cool. I used to listen to Kondo (plus Laswell, plus Bernocci, plus Krush) quite a lot about a year ago. Synchronicity? Have to dig him up again.

And Neubauten. Damn them for not coming to Switzerland.

its run by the Aphex Twin, Warps most successful artist. The Braindance Coincidence is a good sampler of their stuff and its cheap too.

Braindance Coincidence... I like the name of that. Will give it a shot. Thanks for the recommendations.

  8. A few recommendation for those few who might be intrested:

    - Panacea

    - Needle Sharing

    - Tarmvred

    DarkTechno / Dark Drum'n'Bass. Play loud. Machine/Borg-Sound...

...oddly, I want to do it again...

Danger! Danger! Minimal emotional safety levels surpassed!  ;)

Well, maybe you ARE just a male of the homo sapiens' species after all.

Btt: What I do in my spare time? I waste it. I should be working on two projects for Uni but didn't do sh|t over the holidays. I just hate myself, sometimes. I spent my time writing rpg-stuff, playing games, watching tv and seeing friends. But that's gotta change from tomorrow on.

  10. You know, I can kinda see that happen with Apple's iTunes-Store. Unfortunately it's not available in Europe yet, but from what I've seen this could be a business-model that may work. Its first and main competitor are likely to be the singles/maxis. If you can have a song for .99 ebs there's no reason to go to the stores and buy the same song on a single (where you probably have two more shitty remixes and that Song That Didn't Quite Make It On The Album) for 9 or 12 or so Franks (would be around 7 to 10 $).

  11. Me, I'd love to spend my money on music and software and stuff. Trouble is I don't have much. I'm a student, and I live way below the 'official' poverty limit. I need all I earn to pay the rent, the food and school. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think piracy is in any way excusable. It is theft. Still I do it. But I also plan on 'legalizing' my music and software once I can afford it.

You don't want to spend your money.  Your money is more valuable than other peoples.

Absolutely. Since I've got less than most other people I know I value the little I have more. Makes sense to me. That's how markets work. Data (Music, Software, all things than can be made digital) is becoming more and more of a 'free good' (likely wrong translation from german). So I'm a cheap b@stard? Well, seems you're right. But from my point of view I don't damage the economy more by downloading music than by not consuming at all. I do pretty much the same as Maverick. I download, I listen. If I like something I try to scrape enough money together to buy it (like these two Cooper Temple Clause CDs last week).

Besides, I sometimes work in a record store. That's where (well, at least for me) the problem lies. The big companies have money and ways enough to find alternatives. The small stores don't. There used to be 6 record stores in my hometown two years ago. Now there are only 3 left.

  12. Congrats, Harry! Good one. Looks like you're rather good at what you're doing  :)

In other news from the job front: I'll be working part-time over the pre-holidays. In a record store. The joy of christmas shopping...

  13. An American comedian. Stumbled over him some time ago. Personally I find him rather good. I wonder though. His humour is rather ... risquee sometimes. Now I'd like to know what you think about him, his humour, and if you could give me some info on how he's liked in the US. Thanks in advance...

  14. I downloaded it and use it as a rough guideline for my 'own'. can't seem to get the 'links' working, though. but then I'm stupid programming-wise. I especially like the idea to use google from my desktop, but find it unnerving that Windows insists on using internet explorer to do the search. is there any way to force it to use another browser?
