  1. ...feeling a bit out-dated as the previous message is from 2012 :D

Still, the rules set is still considered new by some (well, at least by me). Actually, our group has never had a netrunner in the team as the basic rules were somewhat frustrating and therefore ruled out. We began just a year ago to play Cyberpunk again (since the 90s) and it's a bit frustrating to have only NPC netrunners. I promised our gamemaster to check if I could find an alternative set of rules to use…

…and I have to say that I’m very taken by the set of rules (Run.Net) you have made. I’ve read them through few times, and they look straight-forward, quick to use - and fun!

I’m sold and will make my first netrunner ever. As I am a total netrunner newbie, I have to ask a few additional questions I hope you could help me with.

    NEWBIE QUESTIONS

    1. Is there any list of example programs (what they do, cost and require)? If I understood correctly, the ones in the source books can’t be used as such (with this rule set). Would like to use some existing programs first before I’ll have a go in developing one myself. There clearly has been some PDFs, but the links in the previous messages don't work anymore :(
    2. Is there any list of cyberdecks and other equipment? Or can the ones in the source books be used?
    3. Just out of curiosity, if you’re not a netrunner with an interface skill - can you still use the net? If yer, how do you determine the values for the commands and targets?
    4. Have I understood correctly that the values for the Commands and Target are set for good when creating the character? Basically treat them as any other skill?
    5. Is there any way to train the Command/Target values in the long run?
    6. Has anyone made an additional sheet for the netrunner based on these rules? Or a rule summary sheet? If not, not a problem. I will make one myself ;)

Still in awe. Can’t wait to have a go.

  2. Thanks, both - interesting thoughts. I was under the impression that 5 would be "average", but I could well be wrong.

How would you think a character with INT 2 would cope? That example solo might be doing quite OK in the battlefield but what about in daily life?

Companero, how would you play a savant INT 2 character?

  3. A question about low intelligence stat. We are having a debate what kind of a character is a player which is a min-maxed solo, who has INT 2 but at the same time has awareness skill of 9 (and of course, combat sense). Can a solo with INT 2 be good with tactics and/or strategy?

...and all in all, how stupid is a character with an INT 2? Can (s)he read/write? Is (s)he talking like Tarzan (Me Tarzan You Jane)? Has that been defined clearly somewhere, what that low stat really means?

I would love to hear your thoughts about this.
