How hard would it be to rig a missile to ride the beam in an kill the radar, hell they have those today. you can sneak past a sentry or just shoot 'em and stroll by.

The fact that this is coming out at all shows the staying power of cyberpunk. I still have new people I introduce to 2020 all the time and they all have loved it. (the new version of the dice& pencils version is also nice to here my 2020 stuff is getting a little worn out).

I'm both giddy with anticipation for the new game and having my gut drop out realizing I'll have to upgrade my PC to handle it properly.

I like the drone but the new ED-209 looks kinda goofy.

I find the real drawback to the AVs over helos is one thing downthrust, in the F-35 and V-22 they discovered that the new engines can warp the decks of the ships from the heat of the downthrust. Now try fast-roping your assault force out of your AV-4 in a tight urban environment. Helos vent most of the hot exhaust to the back out of the chopper, the lift provided by the rotors generates a lot of force but not at temperatures to warp steel. An AV by contrast flies by pure thrust and some lifting body effect an engine that can do that has gotta be a real burner.

If you can find it the comic Titanium Rain by Josh Finny set in 2031 with china in a civil war and the US and its allies involvement. Its mostly told from the POV of the first cyberneticly enhanced fighter pilots but is full of nifty background info as well. part two has been promised since forever but nothings been announced, worth a read if just for the aircraft (manned aircraft made a comeback when electronic warfare became capable of interfering with combat UAVs).
